Race 1 5 – 3 - 9 #5 Miss Bellatrix – Incredibly perplexing race to start the day. 2-year-olds go-ing a mile on the grass! Yikes! Let’s give a tepid nod to this miss who is very well bred for the grass. She also has a race under her belt which is a big plus. #3 Lookout Point – They only paid $32K for this one which is well below what this owner usually pays for 2-year-olds. Top trainer Miller names Prat and that can only be another positive. #9 Agador Spartacus – This guy has two races under his belt. He looks to be fit and ready to fly out of the Birdcage.

Race 2 4 - 5 - 6 #4 Medusa’s Gaze – This Knapp trainee is beginning to look like a trial maiden being now 0-9. But she has very good TG numbers compared to the others here and gets her first chance going two turns. She might be the one. #5 Summer Rose – She really perked up in her first race at a mile. She almost got the money that day and is a big threat to get all the money today. #6 Circle of Honor – This one is also trained by Knapp. That last race was too bad to be true. Might win.

Race 3 3 – 12 – 6 #3 Really Big News – The really big news is the major jock upgrade from an apprentice to one of the best turf riders on the circuit. He also comes in with the best TG number and will be hard to deny. #12 Constant Conflict – He was only half a length behind the top choice. Must be respected. #6 Just About Enough – No runner in this race is better bred for the grass than this first time starter.

Race 4 4 – 2 – 1 #4 Canadian Pride – The cutback in distance is just what the doctor ordered. I like him a lot. #2 Fight On – Sadler just laid down $62K for this one. He should expect immediate dividends today. #1 Dr. Schivel – This colt was some kinda fast last year. First time Glatt; second time Prat; first time lasix. I might be un-dervaluing this guy’s chances.

Race 5 2 – 3 – 5 #2 A New Piece – Here we have another live piece from the Knapp barn. Not sure if sprinting is this gal’s forte but she has the best TG numbers, showed tactical speed at a mile and will be flying late against this group. #3 Miss Lucy – This is filly comes out of an extremely key race on April 18. She was fourth despite blowing the start. The first and third place finishers that day both came back to win. She will be tough. #5 Lavender – Always gives a good account of herself.

Race 6 1 – 2 – 3 #1 Over Attracted – In this 5 horse field, 3 of them are speed types and will surely try for the lead. That should set things up perfectly for this closer who

appears to be the only real closer in the race. #2 She’s a Dime – Took to a mile like a fish to water. Will have to contend with the other speed in this race, but she sure looks like she found her best distance. #3 Shezaghost – Prat sure made the difference on this filly as she won off by 6 last time with him aboard. Danger.

Race 7 2 – 8 - 10 #2 Listen to Blue – This one looks set to get her second lifetime win. That last race was a prep, and she came out of that with a brilliant work. She now stretches out to her best distance and will win this to kick off the late pick 5. #8 Bluegrass Sky – Tried grass for the first time last out and she loved it. The win-ner that day came back and won a race this past Sunday. A threat to take them wire to wire. #10 Peace Pipe – Was right there against Bluegrass last time out. I expect her to be there at the wire under the talented young apprentice.

Race 8 6 – 2 – 5 #6 Agreetodisagree – Her last two races were excellent. After that last race where she just missed by a head, she came back with 2 bullet works. LRF and Eurton entrust Pyfer to get the job done today. Go gettem Jess! #2 Livingmy-bestlife – I actually bet on this one last time over at Oaklawn. I knew how great a trainer Sadler is and he did not disappoint as he got this one home first off the claim. He now brings her to SoCal and she will be a handful. #5 Flat Out Joy – Comes in with the best last race TG number. A factor here today.

Race 9 7 – 1 – 2 #7 Flashiest – I discounted his chances last time out since he was coming over here with just a MCL win over at TuP. I won’t make that mistake again. He was impressive winning despite having a tough time at the start. He gets first time Prat and he gets my top pick. #1 Hudson Ridge – Has really come into his own. Those last two races stamp him as a colt to be reckoned with. Flash-iest better be at her super flashiest to beat this guy. #2 Airman – Has traded victories with Hudson in his last two. Cannot be ignored.

Race 10 5 – 4 - 2 #5 Midcourt – This guy has been on a steady diet of Graded Stakes races. He will truly appreciate the class relief. Edwin aboard tells me they are probably going to send him. They will all have to catch him to win. #4 Cupid’s Claws – He has won at a mile, a mile and an eighth and a mile and a half. Extremely versatile and has the great Prat aboard. Watch out for his claws. #2 Ax Man – A bit inconsistent, but when he puts up his best race, he is a force.

Race 11 2 – 3 – 1 Best Bet of the Day! #2 Brooklyns Best – If this is indeed Bravo’s first mount here in SoCal pay close attention. Joe is one of the best jocks in the country and he will want to show up with a bang. If Jersey Joe is aboard, he will be my best bet of the day! #3 Norma Jean B. – A repeat of the last race at CD makes this one an extreme danger to have her picture taken after the race. #1 La Gioiosa – Don’t think we have seen the best of this one yet here in the states. I am expecting a major improvement today.
