Key Capabilities• Geospatial maps support multiple layers

(add, remove, show, or hide layers)

• Bubble layers by color or size; if >5K points bubble layer clusters

• Free-form polygon filters, predefined shapes, such as circles and squares

• Point of Interest (POI) data can be imported from Esri shape files

• Distance filter, can select “within” or “not within” using distance from a given point of interest

• Choropleth layer with up to four levels of geographical hierarchy

• Heat map layer

Analyze and Visualize Business and Spatial DataSAP Lumira

Geo Bubble Chart

Geo Pie Chart

Geo Choropleth Chart

• Create a geographic hierarchy based on geographic dimensions

• Geographic hierarchy can be either name-based or coordinate-based

• Geographic hierarchy can have up to 4 levels: country, region, sub-region, city

• Lumira uses Navteq geography database (offline) to create these hierarchies

• Select a geo chart and set a geographic hierarchy member to its dimension

• Geo bubble chart displays bubbles on POIs sized relative to measure values

• Geo pie chart displays pies on POIs sized relative to measure values and sliced by a dimension

• Geo choropleth chart which colors POI shapes based on measure values

Analyze and Visualize Business and Spatial DataSAP BusinessObjects Design Studio

GeoMapping is supported from Design Studio 1.5.

Multiple layers (shapes, markers, bubbles) can be overlaid on top of a base map, and its behavior can be controlled via scripting.

Use different base maps.

• Location-aware: Identifies location of a person or transaction using coordinate info and displays as tiles on Google Earth

• Tile color and opacity can be set to frequency, density

• Export to other GIS formats: GML, KML, Shapefile

• Co-location: Detects transactions or events occurring in the same location during the same period of time

• Path identification: Creates a sequence of geo-localized positions from time-based transactions to extract patterns of events

Act On Insights With Spatially-Enabled ApplicationsSAP Geographical Enablement Framework

Enable smooth integration and bi-directional navigation between SAP applications and Esri ArcGIS.

Embed responsive map user interface (UI) in business applications

Store the geometry of any SAP business object in SAP HANA

Visualize, filter and search for business

objects. Drill-down through multiple map layers to gain better insight from a desktop or a tablet.

Act On Insights With Spatially-Enabled ApplicationsSAP Geo.E – SAP Engineered Service Offering

• Run business processes spatially in SAP ERP applications

• View and update the spatial representation of objects on a map• Show SAP data in SAP-own map layers• Provide external map services to SAP users

• Integrated map screens for spatial representation of SAP data• Manage linear & non-linear assets on maps• Process notificaton & work orders spatially• Process transactional data geographically

• Geo.eXplorer• Explore SAP business data & GIS data

geographically within the same UI• Runs in SAP GUI or in standalone mode

• Geo.eSync• Synchronize data between SAP & GIS systems

Greater Business Insight & Action with Geographic DataCustomer Example: EDF Renewable Energy

Use case Acquire business data

from SAP ERP, spatial data from sensor data from OSIsoft to analyze health of wind turbines

Use SAP HANA to analyze performance, wind conditions, location, work history, maintenance schedule & financial impact of under-performing wind turbines

Display results on dashboards to analyze and act quickly to resolve issues

Benefits Reduced time to pull

data from ERP, Esri ArcGIS, OSISoft from weeks to minutes

Analyzed 500M sensor records & reduced reporting trends by 92% (2.5 minutes to 12 seconds)

Reduced database size by 80% (790 GB to 110 GB)

Greater Business Insight & Action with Geographic DataCustomer Example: Munich RE (Reinsurance)

Use case Analyze risk to deliver holistic insurance solution Use SAP HANA advanced data processing (spatial

and predictive) to predict impact of natural disaster Hurricane path Weather intensity Critical infrastructure (roads, hospitals schools)

Analyze cluster maps to assess critical infrastructure Regions (polygons) Roads (linear assets) Hospitals / schools (geocoding)

Work with communities to prepare for or respond quickly after disaster

Greater Business Insight & Action with Geographic DataCustomer Example: American Water

Use case: Use SAP SAP Geo.E s to embed

maps into SAP Business Applications Pilot project: improve Water & Waste

Water Operations for community of ~50,000 customers

Enable field workers to show work orders on responsive maps (over 2,700 work orders in 2015)

Field workers can analyze work history, create new work orders directly in application

Results: reduced travel time, increased productivity, improved accuracy of records
