Implementation and Use of SAP HANA
• End 2013, Ordina has decided to migrate its internal IT landscape to SAP
• The NEXO program has kicked-off formally on Jan 1th, 2014
• The NEXO Program’s goal is to improve the comanpy’s Operations, to offer a better User
Experience, and to lower the Total Cost of Ownership
• NEXO includes all SAP innovations:
• HANA
• Cloud
• Mobile
• New Business Apps
• Business Analytics
• With this new landscape, our business processes will run more smoothly on SAP; the
number of interfaces between heterogenous system will be reduced dramatically

Roadmap
• To get a jump-start, Ordina has taken benefit from the Cloud-Based Quick Start (CBQS)
• To cover Ordina’s Business Requirements, the CBQS has been equipped with a large
amount of Rapid Deployment Solutions (RDS), installed in the Cloud at SAP SE, Walldorf,
and brought up-and-running
• Advantages for Ordina:
• Parallel Time to prepare On-Premise HP Infrastructure
• Project Acceleration by implementing RDS in the CBQS
• Download from SAP Walldorf Cloud to On-Prem after release of the On-Prem
Infrastructure
• Productive Environment setup in conjuntion with HP Netherlands
• Remaining Environments, such as Fail-Over, Development, Test/Acceptance have been
rolled-out by Ordina

environments

• ... As well as BW on HANA and CRM on HANA
• The Ordina Division Maintenance & Outsourcing hosts the NEXO infrastructure at the
Ordina Data Center
• NEXO runs on SUSE/Linux
• In the Event of failure of the Productive Environment, HP Service Guard guarantees a
switch to the failover environment within 5 minutes
• HP has provided Ordina with a Sandbox for Education & Trainin and Testing

Ordina Benefits from the switch to SAP HANA as part of the
NEXO Program
• Integrated System Landscape
• Standard Software and Processes, making Maintenance Simpler and more affordable
• Reduced Total Cost of Ownership
• Future Proof Platform for the next wave of Innovations from SAP (Simple Finance, Simple
Logistics, ... )
• Flexible
• Re-vamped User Experience (SAP Fiori for Time Management)
10
Outlook
• S/4 HANA implemented, including Time Management, running on Mobile Devices
• Due to the short “Live” period, our experience is short, however most of the reporting is
more performant than the reporting on the “old” SAP and its heterogenous satellite
Systems
• The effect of the implementation of S/4 HANA is difficult to compare with the very
heterogenous environment before 2015, but the fact of running our Business Operations
in a Homogenous System is already a significant improvement
• Reporting becomes available much rapidly in ECC
• Some other applications (MRS and CPM) do not show a significant increase in
performance. Phase 2 of NEXO includes Optimization
• Ordina is currently investigating the use of SAP HANA Live for Real Time Operational
Reporting and eventually phase-out BW
• Ordina shares the opinion that the question is not WHETHER to shift to HANA, but rather
WHEN. Now is the time!
