SAP One Server using MCOD

Multiple Components in One Database (MCOD) is a feature in the installation process for mySAP Business Suite components

OLTP (e.g. SAP R/3) and OLAP (e.g. SAP BW) mix is possible

Possibility to install several components independently in a SINGLE database

Each mySAP application uses its schema by accessing the databasewith a unique dedicated database userTables and data exist in parallel and fully independent

Applications will be installed in parallelReduces Administration complexitySimplifies Backup and Recovery concepts

The Opportunity

Why now?Even today’s SMB customers require sophisticated business processes which span over multiple applications

SAP One Server can help to reduce the required System Landscape through infrastructure consolidation to just one server and one database.

Customers require to run the system infrastructure cost effectives with limited IT resources or 3rd party services

Through standard concepts and tools, SAP One Server helps to reduce the Total Cost of Operations

Who can use it?New and existing customers

Customers which require SAP R/3 and SAP BW functionalities to solve their business requirementsOther applications such as SAP CRM can be added manually but are not part of the SAP One Server content and concepts

All industries - SAP One Server has not industry specific content since it builds up a technical infrastructure

Customer Impacts – Reduced Costs

Example: 18% Cost Reduction for Technical Infrastructure

SAP One Server Cost Analysis ToolCompare “standard” and SAP One Server projects for individual customer projects

Most cost expenses have been identified for the areas

Operations Including Maintenance FeesLimited cost reduction possible for this area

Administration (Service Delivery)

Most cost reduction possible in the areas of System and Release Planning, Implementation and System Administration

Result of Performance Test

Performance tests to evaluate QuickSizer Results for SAP One Server

Parallel Benchmark of SAP R/3 Enterprise and SAP BWUsing 4 CPU/ 4GB HP ProLiant Server (Intel Architecture)

Even under intensive use, the applications are stable, providinggood response times and high data throughput.

Different SAP applications (OLAP / OLTP)can be run with one server and onedatabase.

Additive sizing approachUse the Quick Sizer and to follow thegeneral sizing guidelinesPerformed sizing for each system individually, the values obtained for each system just have to be added.
