In addition, we express thanks to the people, organiza- tions, and volunteers who recently helped make our end of the year family picnic a success for the students and families we serve.The day was full of smiles, delicious food and laughter for our Project Lift students and their fam- ily members. Project Lift strives to offer family bonding activities in safe, caring, and positive environments. Fortu- nately, thanks to the help of so many generous individuals and businesses within our community, the family picnic was once again a huge celebration to end the year. Thank you to the U.S. Navy Command of Ballston Spa volunteers, who worked tirelessly to cook, set up, and entertain the kids and their families during the event. A thank you goes out to Healthy Living Market and Cafe, led by Richie Snyder, who generously donated food, supplies, and their time to help serve the families at the picnic. Healthy Living has supported many Project Lift events this year and it was great they could help us end the year with a blast. We are so grateful to all of you for supporting Project Lift in our constant efforts to make a difference in the lives of these kids. Starting July 10, the Ballston Spa Rotary Club will be collecting produce donations at the Ballston Spa Farmers’ Market to distribute to the needy in the Ballston Spa area through local food pantries. If you have extra garden produce, please consider dropping it off at the farmers market to help others in the community. Donation bins will be set up by the BSBPA table. In addition to bring-ing local produce into the Village the market has teamed up with many organizations, clubs, and businesses in the area this year to create fun events for the kids that will be of-fered free of charge. 2014 saratoga County Fair art and sCienCe projeCts For eduCation exHiBits

SARATOGA CO. - The 173rd Saratoga County Fair invites Saratoga County Schools each year to display their art, sci-ence and social exhibits at the fair from July 22-27, 2014. Students also enter projects on their own. Three School Districts with the best displays win awards of a first prize TV & DVD combination, second and third prizes one TV and one DVD; four outstanding student entries receive a cash prize. There are ten honorable mentions for art and ten honorable mentions for Social/Science which will also receive awards. Everyone will receive a ribbon. Categories are: Art, Social Studies/Science, Photography, Graphic Arts & Group Projects. For judging purposes, there will be two age groups; grades K-6 and grades 7-12. This year, Edu-cation will have “craft time” every day at 5 p.m. so come and join the fun. Set up date for the education exhibits is Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sara-toga Fair Grounds under the Grandstand. 2014 saratoga County Fair lego Contest SARATOGA CO. - The 173rd Saratoga County Fair invites everyone to enter the Lego Contest at the fair on Wednes-day, July 23, 2014. The fair runs from July 22-27, 2014. There is no entry fee with your paid admission to the fair. All entries must be labeled with your name, age and title of the piece. The age categories are four to six years old, seven to nine years old, ten to twelve years old, thirteen to fifteen years old and finally, a “family” category. The theme is “Fun at the Fair.” Use Legos to build animals, buildings, farming equipment, rides, create whatever your imagina-tion dreams up that has to do with fun at the county fair. Lego creations should be brought to the Saratoga County Fair Family Center between 10 am – 12 noon on Wednes-day, July 23. Lego displays will be judged and on display until 4 p.m. by the Saratoga County Fair Education Commit-tee. sCHuylerville lions wine & Food tastingSCHUYLERVILLE - The Schuylerville Lions Club will be host-ing their 8th Annual Wine and Food Tasting on July 26, 2014 at the Schuyler Yacht Basin. 18tH annual irisH 2000 FestivalBALLSTON SPA – The celebration that is midway to St. Pat-rick’s Day -- the Irish 2000 Music and Arts Festival -- takes over the Saratoga County Fairgrounds on Sept. 12 and 13 with new groups and old favorites. The festival features more than 25 performers and two days of all things Irish. The Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program can provide monetary relief as well as extensive case management for veteran families that are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming home-less. Temporary financial assistance is available for rental assistance, utilities fees, security deposit, moving costs, emergency supplies, child care and transportation. Case management and referral services include health care, daily living activities, financial planning, transportation, in-come support and legal assistance.
