“What! Could You Not Watch With Me One Hour?”
(Matthew 26:40) “Nothing of any spiritual significance happens apart from prevailing prayer”
“Success in ministry occurs when we work like everything depends upon us and pray like everything depends upon God” (Dr. Jerry Falwell)
The Eternity Production Will be at
Calvary Baptist Church nightly @ 7 PM from Saturday, November 9, through Wednesday, November 13.
This production is a bold evangelistic outreach into our community. We are asking God for a rich harvest of souls. We cannot expect spiritual results without sacrificial prayer. I am calling Calvary Baptist to a 12 hour prayer-vigil and I need the cooperation of every member of this church. The souls of our families, friends and neighbors are at stake. Will you answer the challenge given by our Lord to “watch and pray” with me for One Hour?
“Tabernacle Prayer” Plan Our 12 hour prayer vigil will be from
7 PM, Friday, October 18
through 7 AM, Saturday, October 19. Beginning at 7 PM, Friday, groups of about 10 people will begin arriving every 20 minutes throughout the night to pray their way through the 7 prayer stations of the “Tabernacle Prayer.” Each group will spend approximately 10 minutes at each prayer station, creating a continual 12 hour prayer chain. Each prayer station will be led by a pastor or deacon and each group will complete this prayer journey in approximately 70 - 80 minutes.
You must SIGN UP for your arrival time any time
between 7 PM Friday, through 6 AM Saturday.
Prayer sign-up sheets with designated times are available in the foyer. We will need a minimum of 300 people to cover each 20 minute time slot through the night.
Those who are willing to make the greater sacrifice of signing up for the early morning hours will certainly experience a greater measure of God’s blessings.

Encounter is an opportunity for students to encounter the gospel, encounter
becoming Jesus Christ’s disciples and encounter serving Jesus. From 6:00 to 6:30 canteen snacks From 6:30 to 7:00 games, drama and worship From 7:00 to 7:30 message From 7:30 to 8pm small groups
Encounter focus: Creation and science. The bible is not a
science book, but when it speaks of science, it’s correct. This nine week message series will help us better understand Creation, science and how to use our knowledge of these truths to share the gospel with non-believers.
This Creation Evangelism message series will be connected to our retreat to the Creation Museum on December 31 and January 1.

Here is the scoop on AWANA! It is all about reaching boys and girls with the gospel and training them to know, love and serve Jesus Christ. For nearly 60 years, AWANA has been a leader in children’s ministry, helping churches and parents worldwide raise children and youth to know, love, and serve Christ. Calvary’s AWANA Club is part of more than 18,000 AWANA Clubs which operate around the world. Each week, more than 2 million children and youth and 400,000 volunteers take part in AWANA in over 27,000 churches all over the world. These community clubs are open to all children attending from many different faiths and churches. While your child will not be required to attend other functions of our church, all services and opportunities are open to each child and their families. For more information about AWANA visit the website at www.awana.org.

AWANA clubbers are asked to bring 25 CENTS each week for dues. Please make sure your child has his/her dues! These dues help offset the cost of awards, special events, and trophies. If it is a financial hardship for you to provide the dues, please speak with Roger Jarrell. You
have the option of paying all dues upfront at a cost of $8.
AGES 2 yr. old - 3
AWANA will be cancelled if Staunton City Schools are closed due to inclement weather. We recognize that many of our clubbers live in the county and oftentimes county schools close when city schools do not. We ask that you make the best decision for your family in regards to attendance if this situation arises.
AWANA begins
Sept. 11 @ 6:15 - 8 PM
What does AWANA do? Awana is divided into three segments which provide start-to-finish adventure in every club meeting. Each has a pur-pose.
Game Time: Every Awana Club meeting includes a
high-energy Game Time featuring individual and team com-petition. Everyone participates.
Handbook Time: Using achievement-oriented curricu-
lum materials, Awana emphasizes memorization and un-derstanding of key Bible verses. Clubbers are rewarded for their achievements as they progress through handbooks.
Council Time / Story Time: Clubs gather for a Bible message, singing and announcements of upcoming events. One highlight of Council Time is the presentation of awards for individual handbook progress.
RECYCLE - Parents - if you have an AWANA shirt, vest or tote in good condition, could you turn them in to Roger or Karen, so we can make them available to those who could use them?
