To begin the online SAT course, you must each have your own individual “Official SAT Online Course” registration card. You MUST SAVE this card in a safe place because if you lose your card and can’t log in again, you will lose your work. Once you register and create a new username and password, you may use that to log in.

When you create an account, you will be asked to select a class. Select the class entitled “English Academic 11.” If you do not select that class, I will not be able to view your scores.For today, begin work on the official full-length Pretest to determine your strengths and where you could use some help. You will not finish this today. As you continue with the course, you can refer back to your official full-length Pretest results to check on the progress you've made. Because our school has purchased a subscription to The Official SAT Online Course that includes auto essay scoring, you must click on the Update Writing Score link* to have your essay scored by the auto essay scoring service. (*you can only do this once, so don’t forget).

Eventually, you will finish this Pretest, which takes about three hours. After that, you should proceed to Practice Test 1. These two (The Pre-test and the Practice Test) are required as part of your class grade. If you do not complete them in class, you will have to finish them at home in late April. I will provide you with enough time to do both, but little extra time, so work efficiently.

This course is an online subscription paid for by the school system through Aspirations Lab. The program provides written feedback, pointing out students’ individual strengths and weaknesses and gives a real score for full-length tests. Basically, this is the PSAT online, without the same time constraints.
