Automation, communication and telecontrol

High functionality and fl exibili-ty are the basis for a successful automation system. And when you use the AK 1703 ACP, you can be sure it also includes comprehensive telecontrol and communications functions and options for linking peripheral equipment.

One for all: AK 1703 ACPThe AK 1703 ACP opens up new possibilities for the automation

of power supply networks through innovative technologies such

as the ACP system concept. You can match the performance

and redundancy of the system perfectly to your requirements

through an extremely fl exible combination of automation,

telecontrol and communication functions.

AK 1703 ACP offers you optimum support for this as

a central unit or telecontrol substation,

data node or front-end,

automation unit with independent

function groups and

with local or remote peripherals.

At the same time, AK 1703 ACP offers a wide range of different

interfaces for local and remote communications. Compatibility

with IEC standards 60870-5-101/103/104 is guaranteed by

consistent addressing from acquisition to output. However,

AK 1703 ACP can also be integrated seamlessly into existing

automation networks via many different third-party protocols,

thereby ensuring the long-term protection of your investments.

Intelligent peripheralsApart from the central acquisition and output of process signals

in the AK 1703 ACP subrack the use of TM 1703 peripheral

elements allows a systematic reduction in the number of hard-

wired I/O interfaces through the direct connection of actuators

and sensors with wire cross sections of up to 2.5 mm2. Modules

for binary input and output up to 220 V DC also open up savings

potential at the interposing level. The TM 1703 peripheral

elements can also be placed as far away as 200 m from the

central unit for decentralized input/output.

Consistently simple engineeringThe engineering process, from system diagnosis to online test,

can be implemented extremely cost-effectively via the object-

oriented SAT Toolbox II system, and also remotely. The close

interfacing with design tools such as ELCAD ensures the

consistent, uniform documentation of the whole system right

down to circuit diagram level. User programs for open-loop and

closed-loop control functions are created in CAEx plus in

accordance with IEC 61131-3, thereby minimizing training

costs.

Simple replacement: Plug & PlayA fl ash card is used in the AK 1703 ACP for storing parameters,

so that exchanging devices is a simple Plug & Play operation.

The confi guration is transferred to the spare device with the

fl ash card. As a result, loading from a PC is not necessary and

the correct parameters are always available locally. This allows

comprehensive remote diagnosis options, and down times can

be reduced to a minimum.
