Race 114 HAPPY MOMENT

An ever-competitive 11-race card has been scheduled for Kranji this Saturday afternoon with a quality Class 3 1400m Handicap slated as the highest-rated race on the day.

All eyes, however, will be on in-form gelding HAPPY MOMENT in the final race of the card, a Class 4 1100m Polytrack Handicap, to see if he can land his hat-trick of wins.

HAPPY MOMENT is a four-time winner from 14 starts and he has regained his best form this preparation with two facile victories from as many starts. The son of Showcasing resumed with an impressive first-up win two starts ago before repeating the dose last time out when sprinting away in the straight to score by two lengths.

HAPPY MOMENT has been given a 35-day freshen since his last-start win and has turned in a strong trial since. In the form he’s in, he should be winning again.

Elsewhere, and quality sprinter LIM’S CRAFT looks on track to land another win when he returns to Class 4 in the 1200m turf Handicap in Race 6.

A five-time winner from 24 starts, LIM’S CRAFT has slid down the ratings from 79 at the beginning of this season to a current mark of 67. It pays to overlook his last start as he reared on jumping and the race was over thereafter. Prior to that, he had been closing off strongly in competitive Class 3 races, finishing close up to quality types such as CELAVI and HADEER. The Long Course suits his pattern and he looks hard to hold out.

Meanwhile, trainer Mark Walker (57 wins) boasts a seven-win lead over Michael Clements (50 wins), while apprentice jockey K Hakim (51 wins) leads both the apprentice and jockey premierships, with Danny Beasely a clear second place on 41 wins.
