While it has been my pleasure to serve as the President of the North Georgia Jaguar Club the past two years the real success of our club goes to the club members who come out and support our events and to those very special people who make it possible for the rest of us to enjoy those events. Each month John Baxa edits, and John Yates publishes, an informative and interesting club newsletter. This is no easy task. The NGJC newsletter is our club’s most important means of communication. We simply could not function without the continuing efforts of these two guys and I cannot thank them enough. The transition from Roy Cleveland to Lynn Cunningham as club treasure has gone very smoothly and our 13th Annual NGJC Concours really came together after John Hoffman, Lory Healey, Craig Kerns, and Chris Engelhorn all stepped up to make sure the event ran flawlessly. Vail and Linda Frost hosted our well attended annual club picnic again this year at their beautiful home on the Chattahoochee River Although it started out rather cool the scenery was at its prime and the traffic was light, so we moved steadily down Rt. 27-A through Newnan. By the time we arrived at the Little White House in Warm Springs the temperature was almost not so cool, but warmer. We did stay for a brief potty stop and a quick look at the grounds. Our route then took us to a ridge road that allowed excellent fall leaf scenery, curves, up and down hills and dutiful views of the valleys and the Roosevelt State Park over to Callaway Gardens for an excellent lunch. Afterwards some wanted to go back to the Little White House for a longer look at the Museum, Presidential House, Guest Quarters and other parts of interest rather than continue on the planed route back to Douglasville. All in all it was an excellent tour of western middle Georgia and a great opportunity to talk Jaguar, and chat with good friends. Our good friend Bob Boston has agreed to give us a guided tour of his handicap van conversion manufacturing facilities at 2072 North Bibb Drive, Tucker, GA. Bob is a longtime Jaguar owner and well known Daimler automobile collector and his conversions of common utility vans and SUV’s are providing enhanced lives to the handicapped every day. Complete details with times and directions will be in the January newsletter and on our club web site. This is one technical tour I am sure even the wives will enjoy and you know there will always be a good lunch afterwards! Visit To Adaptive Mobility Systems Saturday, January 17, 2015 The 2014 membership dues for NGJC will remain at $51 and are due by January 1. JCNA is intent on improving its administrative area and part of that is more timely issuing of new membership cards. To do that, they must have our rosters more promptly than in prior years. If you are going to renew your membership for 2014, please mail your dues by the middle of December. If you know you are not renewing, a quick e-mail to Lynn Cunningham or John Baxa would be appreciated so that our e-mailing of the roster to JCNA will not be delayed. We have to send a roster to JCNA with dues payments for each member on the roster in early 2014 so it is very important that we have all our dues collected by January 10. The HHI Concours, now in its’ fourteenth year, is by invitation only and celebrated Jaguar as the Feature Marque this year. Twenty-nine exceptional examples from nine were displayed in five classes. and George Haldane leads us on a beautiful fall drive to the Warm Springs area and on over to Calloway Gardens for lunch. Dick Maury has done an excellent job as the web master for our NGJC website and there are several new features in the works that will make the site of even greater benefit to our members. Brian Bruder, Sales Manager for Gwinnett Hennessey Jaguar, has been a pleasure to work with and I want to thank him for including us in several of their events and for the continuing support of our fall Concours. We have an excellent leadership team in place for 2015 and I would hope we will all continue to give the new club officers the same tremendous support that I have enjoyed these past two years. In closing Beverly and I wish you all the very best for the Christmas holiday season and we both look forward to seeing you at more fun and exciting NGJC events in 2015.Drive Friendly,Dave K

John BaxaVP Membership

1250 Lake Charles DriveRoswell, GA 30075

If your payment does not reach us by January 10, you will be dropped from the renewal roster which we send to JCNA. If you rejoin later, we have to reinstate your membership which takes the time of people who are doing all this voluntarily. Do your part and make your payment when you read this. In making your decision on renewal, you should consider the following tangible benefits of club membership:

(1) discounts on repairs and parts from Hennessy Jaguar,

(2) rebates from Jaguar on purchases of new Jaguar automobiles available only to members of JCNA,

(3) subscription to the Jaguar Journal published by JCNA, and

(4) access to the knowledge accumulated by members of NGJC during years of experience with Jaguars. The discount from Hennessy on a $500 repair would more than pay for your annual membership dues.

Wanted to Buy: 1996 or later XJ6 or 1998-2000 XJ8. Specifically looking for British Racing Green. If you have one or know of one for sale please contact Torrick Williams at 770-895-2100.

Several of our club members had cars on the Concours field in other classes or were active in other capacities. Our annual holiday party was well attended again this year but the location changed to Country Club of the South as our old venerable location was no longer available due to the building changing ownership. If you have opinions about the change of location, the fare presented or anything else, I’m sure the organizers would be happy to get your feedback so we can have some guidance when making plans next year. Happy Holidays to All!

Early next year filming will begin in Atlanta for a movie called “The Accountant”, starring Ben Affleck. They want to create a London parking lot scene using right-hand drive vehicles and have asked for help in securing cars for the location. Obviously, we can not supply any recent right-hand drive vehicles, but they will consider older models. The movie company will pay a generous rental rate and their preference is to use owners as extras, but that is not a requirement. If transportation to the site is a problem they would consider arranging a pick-up.Can you help? The film organizers need to begin securing vehicles. If you or anyone you know has a right-hand drive vehicle please send information and photos to [email protected] or call Patrick Ingram at Extras Casting Atlanta at 404-396-6913. Ben Affleck the “Gone Girl” and “Batman v Superman” is to star in action thriller “The Accountant” for Warner Bros. Gavin O’Connor (“Warrior”) is directing the film.Based on an original script by Bill Dubuque, “The Accountant” centers on a mild-mannered accountant who moonlights as a lethal assassin. The project had been in development limbo for years, most recently at Sony, with Will Smith once attached to the project, but was eventually put into turnaround after the studio could not assemble the right package. WB originally had rights to “The Accountant” with Mel Gibson attached to direct. Insiders told Variety Affleck recently caught wind of the project and thought it would be a nice change of pace before directing “Live By Night,” which will not begin filming until July.Mark Williams and Lynette Howell are producing the film. Drew Crevello and Jon Gonda will oversee for Warner Bros. The role gives the multi-hyphenate another gritty role to sink his teeth into following his rave reviews in David Fincher’s “Gone Girl,” which opened in October.
