new showTHE stars have long been aninspiration to artists and a newChristmas show opening tonight is fullof them— even taking its name from asongwritten for Vincent vanGogh,Starry Starry Night.

Stars are significant acrossmanycultures, including in dreaming storiesfromCentral Australia and ArnhemLand, as well as in the Christmastradition that saw the threewisemenfollowing one to amanger.

The Framed show features artistsfrom aroundAustralia and across theNT, includingNaminapuMaymuru-White, Marita Albers, Geoff Todd andManingrida artists.

Starry Starry Night opens at 7pmtonight and is open until December20 at FramedGallery, Stuart Park.
