save our pollinators (word 2010)

In an effort to “Save Our Pollinators” and increase awareness of the current plight of honeybees I would like to propose the following plan of action: 1. Purchase this kit (Standard Hive) unassembled from Pigeon Mountain Trading for approximately $100 shipping included. I’d then price out the lumber and create “do it yourself” kits or I’d provide printed directions for bee hive making projects such as these: “Honey Cow” “The Tire Beehive” SAVE OUR POLLINATORS

In an effort to “Save Our Pollinators” and increase awareness of the current plight of honeybees I would like to propose the following plan of action:

1. Purchase this kit (Standard Hive) unassembled from Pigeon Mountain Trading for approximately $100 shipping included.

I’d then price out the lumber and create “do it yourself” kits or I’d provide printed directions for bee hive making projects such as these:

“Honey Cow” “The Tire Beehive”

SAVEOURPOLLINATORS

2. Next I’d create a PowerPoint presentation explaining the “Save the Pollinators” program and put it on Slideshare. I’d then contact these local bee removal companies and partner with them in the hopes that they would keep a list of the people interested in receiving bee swarms for their homemade “bee ready” hives.

The Bee Man

3. I’d then contact the following agencies to partner with them to get the word out and create community involvement and awareness of the current plight of the honeybee:

RELEVANT AGENCY SITES

The Hawai’i Food Policy Council

Hawaii Department of Agriculture

University of Hawaii College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources

Hawaii Agriculture Research Center

Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation

The Hawaii State 4 - H Club

4. Next I would create a compact mobile presentation containing an assembled beehive, a computer with PowerPoint, and relevant literature and handouts to be set up at local Farmer’s Markets.

5. And finally, I’d contact the local Middle and High Schools that have agriculture classes or departments, and ask if I could give a presentation to their students. I would encourage them to purchase a beehive package and to create and implement the raising of bees as a class project in order to propagate & increase the numbers of bees around the island.
