ARMORMAX® Anchored Reinforced Vegetation System (ARVS) consists of a high performance Turf Reinforcement Mat (HPTRM) and percussion driven earth anchors that work together to lock soil in place and resist movement. This easy-to-install, permanent erosion protection can be used in vegetated or unvegetated applications. Anchors (type as specified by the engineer) act as a tie-down mechanism for additional safety and long-term design life. APPLICATIONS For use in extreme erosion control applications: Green-friendly, synthetic armoring for earthen levees Canal, stream, and river bank protection from erosion and scour Arid and/or semi-arid storm water channels and slopes For use in shallow plane slope failure applications: Canal embankment stabilization Slope stabilization FEATURES & BENEFITS In extreme erosion control applications: Reduces erosion, reinforces vegetation Withstands hydraulic stresses including high water flows and wave impact Minimizes settlement/subsidence of poor quality soils and need for future soil lifts to maintain levee elevation Allows for enlargement of levees for controlled overtopping Withstands non-hydraulic stresses from debris flow, loading of tractors, etc. Promotes infiltration of surface water UV stabilized with 50 year design life For use in shallow plane slope failure applications: Minimizes lane closure times and construction hazards in highway applications Provides erosion protection and stabilizes sloughing slopes Earth percussion anchors secure the HPTRM to subgrade and tie soil mass together to provide stability Engineered percent open area to provide both short-term and long-term protection Environmentally-friendly solution for improving groundwater quality and protecting wildlife SAVINGS & ADVANTAGES ARMORMAX® offers a cost-effective alternative to rock slope protection and soil nailing with shotcrete.

APPLICATIONSFor use in extreme erosion control applications:• Green-friendly, synthetic armoring for earthen levees• Canal, stream, and river bank protection from erosion and scour• Arid and/or semi-arid storm water channels and slopes

For use in shallow plane slope failure applications:• Canal embankment stabilization• Slope stabilization

FEATURES & BENEFITSIn extreme erosion control applications:• Reduces erosion, reinforces vegetation• Withstands hydraulic stresses including high water flows and wave impact• Minimizes settlement/subsidence of poor quality soils and need for future soil lifts to maintain levee elevation• Allows for enlargement of levees for controlled overtopping• Withstands non-hydraulic stresses from debris flow, loading of tractors, etc.• Promotes infiltration of surface water• UV stabilized with 50 year design life

For use in shallow plane slope failure applications:• Minimizes lane closure times and construction hazards in highway applications• Provides erosion protection and stabilizes sloughing slopes• Earth percussion anchors secure the HPTRM to subgrade and tie soil mass together to provide stability• Engineered percent open area to provide both short-term and long-term protection• Environmentally-friendly solution for improving groundwater quality and protecting wildlife

KEY PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF ARMORMAX®

• Material Composition: Patented ultraviolet protection package in HPTRM, stainless steel tendons and galvanized threaded rods provide long-term design assurance.• TensileStrength:HPTRMboasts4000x3000lb/ft(58.4x43.8kN/m)oftensilestrength,whichexceedstheU.S.EPA’sdefinitionof a High Performance Turf Reinforcement Mat.• Seedling Emergence: HPTRM features X3®fibertechnology,whichoffers40%morefibersurfaceareatocapturethecriticalsediment andmoistureneededtoincreaseseedgerminationwithinthefirst21days.• Flexibility: Allows the system to conform and maintain contact with the prepared subgrade.• Holding Strength: Based on anchor size, tendon rod length and on-site soil parameters, the anchor foot provides up to an ultimate of 500 to 5000 lbs. of pullout resistance per earth percussion anchor. Actual holding strengths depend upon soil characterisitcs, anchor type and installation techniques.

NOTES: 1. The property values listed are effective 12/2006 and are subject to change without notice. 2. MARV indicates minimum average roll value calculated as the typpical minus two standard deviations. Statistically, it yields a 97.7% degree of confidence that any sample taken during quality assurance testing will exceed the value reported. 3. Maximum tendon/wedge grip strength capacity is 2000 lbs. Threaded rods with bolted steel plates up to 5000 lbs.
