This document will describe the features contained in the SaxoTrader 2.5 release.Features included in the release:

RIBBON MENUThe ribbon toolbar replaces the conventional drop down menu. The user will much easier be able to navigate to the different modules using large descriptive icons.

RIBBON MENUThe Ribbon Menu collects similar menu itemsand pools them together. As illustrated on the image the different trade tickets are collapsed under one menu item and the order tickets un-der another item.

The Ribbon Menu will automatically resize itself depending on the width of the application.

The Ribbon Menu can be minimized to savespace.

Right click the header and select “Collapse the Ribbon”. The menu will reappear when any of the headers are clicked.

OPEN POSITIONS

Users can now interact with the module in a much better fashion and easier manage position and related orders.

The new module also allows the user to quickly place related orders and rearrange the columns to create the desired view.

The new open positions module replaces a static web module.

NEW OPEN POSITIONSThe new open positions module is a native module written specifically for SaxoTrader, that will enable users to:

- Open the close position dialogue by clicking the price in the close column- Add stop or limit orders by clicking the Stop or Limit columns - Visualize distance to stop/limit levels by progress bar- Hide closed (and square) positions- Search and filter positions- Choose from a wide array of column types- Rearrange and sort columns

NEW OPEN POSITIONSThe user has a complete overview over all positions and their distance to the stop loss/take profit levels visualized with green and red progress bars. See below.

ACCOUNT TOOLBARThe user can choose to make the account summary toolbar a part of the workspace. This way there will always be an updated overview of the account performance. The user can also expand the different values and see the details and calculation behind the values. The toolbar can be activated by clicking ‘Account and Margin’ in the ribbon menu.

NEW ICONSClearer product differentiation and updated look and feel

New and more modern and descriptive icons for both instruments and modules will be introduced across the three platforms. The coloring will remain the same (FX are green, CFDs are red and so on).

Below is an example of the new product and module icons.

SOUND ALERTSThe user will be able to customize the sounds played at predefined events, such as when the user receives a margin call, or if they want to hear their favorite song when a price alert has been triggered.

The sounds can be configured by selec-ting ‘Options’ from the menu system:

SaxoTrader 2 will upgrade its .NET framework to version 4 in order to support new and advanced features. This means that in order for clients to use most of the new features described in this document they must have .NET 4 installed.A feature reminding the clients to automatically upgrade will be implemented. Every time a client logs in, the plat-form will detect the .NET 4 version and ask to upgrade if it is not up to date.

All new installs of SaxoTrader 2 after 22-03-2011 will au-tomatically install .NET 4.

We will continue to support older versions of .NET for a certain period of time, but later this year we will dis-continue support for older .NET versions which will also mean discontinued support for Windows 2000.
