Important Considerations• How much control do I have over:

– Layout– Design– Permissions– HTML

• Are there money or hidden (ads) costs?• Are there widgets or gadgets?• Can I integrate and syndicate?• Is it too specialised or too general?

Other Ways To Publish

• Streaming video (youtube.com)• Podcasting• Social networking (ning.com)• Build and run your own site

– Hand coding or WYSIWYG?• Publish images (flickr.com)• Contribute to a large wiki (wikipedia.org)• Answer questions (answers.yahoo.com)

What now?1. Decide on a type of site to create

2. Choose a service to use (or DIY!)

3. Use the service to create the site

4. Explore what you can do with your site:1. Layout

2. Structure

3. Design

4. Content

5. Collaborate
