FILTRATION OPERATION Waterentersthefilterthroughtheinletandreachesthescreen(1)whichtrapstheparticlesfromthewater.Asmorewaterflowsthrough,debrisbuildsuponthescreen.Asdebrisaccumulatesonthescreen,apressuredifferentialbuildsupbetweentheinternalandexternalsectionsofthescreen.

FLUSHING OPERATIONWhenthepressuredifferentialreachesthedeterminedvalue(7-10psi),thefiltershouldbecleaned.Watercontinuestoflowthroughthefilterduringthecleaningprocess.

• Openingtheflushingvalve(4)allowswatertoflowoutofthefilter

• Suctionoccursthroughthenozzles(6)whichvacuumsthedebrisfromthescreen(1)andoutthedrainport

• Turningthehandle(3)slowlyrotatesthedirtcollector(2)resultinginfullscanningofthescreenbythenozzles.Slowerrotationcleansthescreenmoreefficiently.

Thiscombinationofrotationandlinearmovementcleansthewholeinternalscreensurface.Theflushingcycletakesabout10seconds.
