Main idea

Our scavenger hunt was about Teachers as Intellectuals. This is an scavenger hunt for all practitioners and all members of the general community.

Our intention was to reflect about what Giroux demands to a reader involvement, transformation, and empowerment. He helps understand that the political relationship between schools and society is neither artificial nor neutral nor necessarily negative. Rather, school personnel have a positive and dynamic political role to play.Educational Leadership

Our classmates went to different sites of the eleven block with the intention to find some clues with the intention to get the real meaning about be a Transformative Intellectual.

During the activity our classmates could link different Opinions that helped them to find the adequate profile about a Teacher but at the end they could realize that there is not a specific role when is about teaching. Teachers are more than that.

Finally we found that

the teacher has to be aware of the specific needs of different communities within the context as well as promote intercultural encounters. The teachers themselves have to be open to change, that is, need to be prepared to reconsider their own views if there is evidence to their incorrectness. They must act as an intercultural educator who promote and gather intercultural initiatives and construct articulated action between different organizations apart from school.
