    Project Title: Scavenger Hunt Development

    Title of Volunteer Role: Scavenger Hunt Development Co-Ordinator

    Projects Purpose & Organisations Mission:

    Tourism is by far the most significant activity in the Borough of Queenscliffe, accounting for at

    least 45% of the local economy and contributes to the viability of 275 local businesses.

    Supporting this industry is vital to the community and the Queenscliff Visitor Information

    Centres (QVIC) key focus and purpose. The QVIC plays a major role in the promotion of the area

    by providing information to the 46,500 people who visited the centre each year.

    This project will primarily involve the development of a suite of scavenger hunts and childrensactivity sheets across Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale. The development of these activities will

    promote the many attractions within the Borough of Queenscliff and encourage families to

    return and participate in the many activities on offer within the town.

    Required Qualifications/Experience:

    Training and/or experience in a teaching / education field.

    Excellent communications skills your audience will be children who thrive from clear

    and concise direction.

    Basic computer skills Microsoft Office

    Basic knowledge of the Queenscliff / Pt Lonsdale area.

    Estimated Time Commitment:

    Approximately 30 hours

    eg 2 hours per week or 8 hours per month flexible times to be arranged to suit both parties.

    Position description:

    Develop a series of scavenger hunts that can be broken into several individual hunts across the

    Borough of Queenscliffe. Ideally separate ones for Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale, and then a

    larger more challenging one combining both towns. These should:

    Include an educational elementNeed to be fun and appealing to children of a range of ages

    Include accurate and verified historical facts of the area

    Be visually appealing and in an easy to use manner for children.

    Encourage a visitation as part of the hunt to the QVIC

    Outcomes of Project:

    The successful creation of a three scavenger hunts, two small / one large, (Queenscliff / Pt

    Lonsdale and Borough of Queenscliffe.)
