New User - Account Set-Up

Step 1:The email address used on your board member application will be used to set up your log-in details for the SCHC Board Member website. You will receive an email from SCHC Sites with "Activate" in the subject line.

Step 2:Click the link provided at the end of the email. This will redirect you to a webpage that indicates your account is now active and will provide you with a temporary password.

Step 3:You may click the "Log in" link or close this webpage.

You will also receive a 2nd email with your user ID and temporary password.

To change your password, click the "Log in" link and follow the instructions on the next page.

Change your password:

Step 1:

Navigate to the upper right of the screen and hover over "Members". A drop down menu will appear with "My Workspace" as a choice.

Click on "My Workspace" (upcoming meeting dates and a list of the committees you are on with associated tasks).

Step 2:Find and click the "Edit Profile" link next to your name on the left side of the page.

Step 3:Clicking "Edit Profile" redirects you to your Wordpress Admin Profile for the SCHC Board Website. Scroll down the page until you see the heading "Account Management".

Step 4: Click "Generate Password" button. Use the newly generated version or type the password you want or use instead.

WRITE IT DOWN SOMEWHERE. THEN hit return.

Click the button.

Site PersonalizationAdditional items to personalize from your Profile include:

This screenshot is a "Student" user role. Other roles will have a slightly different view.

Find Meeting Dates, TimesClick "Meetings" in the main menu at the top of the page.

A list of all the current month's meetings (committee - blue and monthly board - red) will show. Scroll down to review all meetings with dates, time, location and associated attachments (if any).

To look for past or future meetings click the arrows to either side of the Month Year title.

Find Monthly Board Meeting Documents (Board Packets)Meeting documents are added to the respective meeting under the ATTACHMENTS / DOCS: heading as they become available. Click the document title to preview or download to your local computer/device.

Find Committee Meeting MinutesClick "Committees" in the main menu. Choose the committee that you're interested in from the drop down menu.

Previous committee minutes are found in each committee page under the "Group or Committee Content" heading. Clicking the link will open a list of previous minutes.

You can either "Download" or "Preview" by clicking the respective link/button.

Orientation ModuleThe orientation module is located under the "References" heading in the main menu.

The orientation will help new board members keep track of individual learning materials that are needed to become engaged in the work of the board right away.

Click on items in the sidebar to go to that particular topic/task webpage.

Tasks

Mark Items Complete

To mark a task complete, click the gray "Mark Complete" button at the bottom of each task.

Tasks can be expanded or collapsed by clicking the grey arrows next to each category.

This will reveal individual topics/tasks within each category

Grey dots are tasks not marked complete. Green dots are tasks marked complete.

CommitteesCommittee pages are built with the same format as the Orientation module. This gives you a place to organize your annual "to-do" list, make documents and resources available without killing trees and to enable online collaboration and communication in a central location versus searching through multiple email chains. If a member is unavailable or out of town, the "roadmap" is still available to the rest of the team and traffic doesn't stop.

For example:

The Advocacy & Board Development page has the committee charter with tasks (per the charter) in the sidebar.

Each member can review the tasks to ensure the committee is staying organized and on track with the committees duties.

These can be entered based on each committee charter and uploaded to the website.

Additional tasks can be added or removed as needed for individual projects.

Commenting is enabled for individual tasks to facilitate collaboration and communication at your leisure, whenever, wherever you like.
