The Colours of the Cross a Retreat for Lent During Lent, the Church calls every one of us to intensify our quest for Christ. In this Retreat, we reflect on the three colors of the cross. The first, the brown color of the wood, helps us understand why Jesus chose to be crucified. The second, the red color of Christ’s blood, reveals the meaning of our own crosses. The third, the simple skin color of Christ’s humanity, gives us the secret to carrying our crosses faithfully and fruitfully. Nothing is more important that spending time with God. In today’s world, nothing is more difficult. These monthly Saturday morning retreats are designed to help. We need to unplug from the distractions and the noise of daily living. We need time for our soul to relax and unwind. Come spend some time with the one who you know loves you. Each morning consists of two taped meditations and a conference by Fr. John Bartunek, LC, S.Th.D. There are periods of silence for personal prayer and reflection between each presentation by Fr. Bartunek. We finish with prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. Hospitality Ministry Greeter's and Usher's will be coming together to make up our new "Hospitality Ministry". We thank the many people who came forward to participate in the new Hospitality Ministry! As mentioned, those currently serving as an Usher, Greeter as well as those interested in getting involved must attend a workshop – the next workshops will be January 5th at 10:30am; January 8th after the 6:30pm Mass in the Jubilee Room. During this transition it is an excellent time for others to get involved to optimize our atmosphere of hospitality. Many people have already expressed interest. Attendance at one of the workshops is necessary before one can begin to serve in this capacity. If you are interested in helping out, please leave your name at the Parish Office. Thank you!

The Colours of the Cross – a Retreat for Lent

During Lent, the Church calls every one of us to intensify our quest for Christ.
