This course is approved by the Motorcycle Safety Foundati on, known nati onwide as the leader in the fi eld of motorcycle safety.
The beginner classes will start in April and run throughout the year. Classes will be off ered at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore.
Due to legislati on, if you successfully pass the Motorcycle Safety Course and already have a valid Wisconsin driver's license, you may receive a Class M license, provided other licensing requirements are met, without taking a riding skills test at the Driver's License Examiners.
Southwest Tech off ers a course providing classroom and on-range riding experience to make you a knowledgeable and safer cyclist.
Your cycle training will involve classroom instructi on where you learn about your cycle and its operati on. You'll learn riding techniques and how to deal with all riding situati ons.
Your training also includes cycle riding experience on a safe course away from traffi c. Here, you learn the basic skills of shift ing, turning, braking, and other skills that allow you to become a safe rider.

Motorcycle SafetyCycling requires some special knowledge and skills that beginning riders will probably not have. If you think that cycling is the
same as driving a car, with no further preparati on needed, you are wrong. Accident rates are high, and the cyclist must be constantly on the alert to avoid dangerous situati ons. Cycles are not always equally accepted on the highway by other drivers. Riders must be especially careful of changes in road and weather conditi ons. Stati sti cs show that 60 percent of all accidents happen to those with less than one year of riding experience.
TAKE THIS COURSE IF:• If you want to learn how to safely ride a
motorcycle.• If you would like to acquire a Class M
(motorcycle) license.• If you are an experienced cyclist and want
to learn safe riding skills.
e Motorcyle Safety Coursecan provide the
knowledge and skills youneed to become a better
and safer rider.
