PROJECT UPDATE : AUGUST 2019

Wellington has long since been recognised as a forward-thinking and growing social hub of New Zealand. Its diverse events, population, landscape, and architecture allcontribute towards its unique character, and the increasing interest in living there.

The drive behind this project was to create architecture with “edge.” Using a combination of new design features, careful consideration of colour and texture, and original artwork, DXN Apartments will contribute to Wellington’s character by becoming a symbol of innovation, sophistication, and the highly-desired city lifestyle. Those behind the design aimed to reflect the living environments with a “cool” factor found in the likes of Melbourne and Sydney.

The DXN project was initiated by Wellington development company, Vicinity, in conjunction with Arrow International, Archaus Architects, and Taranaki Land Limited. Vicinity and Archaus Architects in particular have worked together in the past to form an impressive portfolio of inner-city apartment design and builds, including The Peak and Wigan Apartments, the Boulcott Suites, and the new Rydges Hotel at Wellington International Airport. Many of their buildings are recognised within the property investment industry for their strong purchaser interest, rental premiums, and being a little different.

Situated at the top of Dixon Street and just off Willis and Victoria Streets, the DXN Apartments will be at the heart of Wellington and everything it has to offer.

The three-tower, 19-story complex will contribute to both the skyline and the ongoing development of the CBD as the residential and cultural hub of the city. 228 apartments will be broken into 114 titles, each including a one-bedroom and studio unit.

Each tower will have its own entrance and lift, complete with a laneway facing Dixon Street. From here, the Wellington way of life is only a step away.

AMENITIES INCLUDED

The location for DXN is ideal for rental apartments. It is perfectly positioned close to the Cuba and Courtney Place precints, general Wellington CBD, and local universities. It is only a 5-minute walk to many major office towers, and is directly across the street from a Wilson parking complex, which is a nice bonus for those who still wish to own a car.

A strong demand is envisioned from urbanites who work in the central city and also want access to entertainment, shopping, restaurants, and bars. Students attending nearby tertiary institutions such as Le Cordon Bleu, the School of Performing Arts, Massey University, and Victoria University of Wellington are also expected to be attracted to the convenient location.

INNER-CITY APARTMENT LIVING

Each apartment title includes a one-bedroom and a studio unit. The 69sqm spaces will each come with all the amenities needed for comfortable inner-city living, including a fridge-freezer, a washer-dryer combo, dishwasher, oven, hob, and extractor fan.

Studios will also include a queen bed, couch, two-seater dining table, and a coffee table.
