OUR CONSULTANT Mr. Azhar Daud is a Section Manager in an Environmental Division, Environmental Strategy Department, and working at one of the Multinational Company in Selangor, Malaysia. He holds a Diploma in Natural Science from the Japanese Language School of The International Students Institute, Tokyo Japan (1987) and Diploma in Civil Engineering from Gunma National College of Technology, Gunma Prefecture, Japan (1990). Upon his graduation he joined a Japanese Multinational Company. The company sends him to Japan to study Plant Maintenance System. He returned to Malaysia 6 months after gone through an intensive training program in Japan. In 1993 he has been coordinated and involved in the Selangor State Landscaping Competition for factory in Selangor and won the first place among the factories and represented Selangor for the National Level.

In 1996 he was entrusted to be in charge of Environmental Management System and headed the committee for ISO14001 Certification. The company has been awarded the Certification in 1997. He was also responsible in handling and managing Waste Water Treatment, Scheduled Wastes Management and take care the Safety and Health of the company. He established the procedures, prepare manual and ensure the company’s activities are geared towards compliance and meet the government requirement. He was the Chief Trainer for Environmental training, Safety (namely EHS Legal, KYT, Effective Incident Investigation, 5S, Chemical Hazard Management, Workplace Audit) and was the lead trainer for Scheduled Wastes control and management and ISO 14001 management system.

In 1997 he has been coordinated and involved in the Energy Efficiency Preparation of Audit and Energy Efficiency Award 1997 document (Industrial Sector) and also participated to respective / relevant concern department in application and preparation of Prime Minister’s Quality Award 1996 & 1997 (Private Sector).

In 1998 he coordinated for the application and preparation of Anugerah Alam Sekitar Negeri Selangor (AASS) 1998 (Large Sized Industries) document and audit and finally emerged as a champion for the Anugerah Alam Sekitar Negeri Selangor in the Selangor State. In 2005 he again was entrusted to in charge of Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001 Safety Management System and headed the committee for OHSAS 18001 Certification. The company was awarded the Certification in 2006.
