自1989年成立以來，香港公開大學一直致力為有意追求學問及理想前途的年青學子及在職人士提供開放及靈活教育。迄今本校約有九千名全日制課程學生及逾九千名遙距課程學生，並已培育超過八萬名不同學科的畢業生。

本校深信每個人都擁有接受教育的權利，遂於1992年在社會賢達、慈善機構、工商和專業團體的熱心捐助下，成立「學生資助基金」，讓有志學習者不會因各種原因，特別是經濟困難而被拒諸進修門外的人士，同時鼓勵學業成績出眾的同學繼續努力。過去，本校以獎學金、學科優異獎以及助學金的形式積極為學生提供各種經濟上的獎勵及支援。在辦學初期，本校的學生主要為修讀遙距課程的在職成年人士，因此早年的獎項只為他們而設。自2001年本校首辦全日制課程起，基金亦開始增設多個獎學金及學科優異獎予全日制課程學生。2015-16年度

「學生資助基金」共派發獎、助學金近六百四十萬元，其中四百零三位同學獲頒獎學金或學科優異獎以嘉許其優秀的學術表現，另有二百六十二位同學獲發助學金以幫助他們繼續學業。

除了「學生資助基金」所頒發的獎項外，本校全日制課程的學生近年更有幸獲政府「自資專上獎學金計劃」頒發多個獎學金。這些獎項不單是對本校學生卓越表現的獎勵，亦是對自資院校努力及成就的肯定。本年度共四百一十八名公大學生獲有關計劃頒授合共八百八十一萬港元獎學金，獲獎學生人數及金額均為歷年之冠。

對每位得獎學生而言，獎項的價值遠超於其金額，因為每個獎項都是對他們過去努力的一種肯定和支持，更給予他們信心和力量去達成學習目標，讓他們有機會締造更美好的前景。本校謹此衷心感謝各位善長的贊助，讓基金積極發揮作用，協助更多有志人士踏進大學之門。誠盼各界繼續支持香港公開大學，與我們攜手育才，發揚「有教無類」的精神。

香港公開大學學生資助基金OUHK Student Assistance Fund

2015-16 獎助學金頒授典禮2

Since its inception in 1989, The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) has been offering open and flexible education to the community, from young secondary school leavers to working adults who are keen to seek for knowledge and a brighter future. Today, the OUHK has a population of about 9,000 full-time students and over 9,000 distance learning students, and more than 80,000 learners have graduated from our wide range of programmes.

Upholding the belief in ‘Education for all’, the OUHK established the ‘Student Assistance Fund’ in 1992 under the auspices of many philanthropists, charities, businesses and professional bodies to ensure no aspiring learner is deprived of the opportunity to advance their education due to financial reasons, as well as to reward those students who have strived to obtain academic excellence. Assistance to students is provided in the forms of

scholarships, course prizes and bursaries. The awards were only offered to distance learning students in the early years as the majority of OUHK students were adult learners who worked full-time. The OUHK further extended the offer of scholarships to include full-time students in 2001. In 2015-16, the Fund granted scholarships and course prizes to reward 403 outstanding students, and bursaries to support 262 needy students to continue their studies, with a record value of about $6.4 million.

Apart from the awards offered under the ‘OUHK Student Assistance Fund’, we are much honoured that our full-time students have also been selected and offered various scholarships under the Hong Kong Government’s Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme (SPSS). These awards represent public recognition of the excellence and distinctive achievement of our students. This year, a total of 418 OUHK students received the above scholarships, which amounted to $8.81 million. This is the largest sum among all self-financed institutions in terms of both the number of awardees and the amount of scholarships granted by the Scheme.

To every OUHK student, the value of the award goes way beyond its monetary value as it represents not only the support and recognition of their hard work, but also provides the driving force to move closer to their study goals. We are most honored and grateful to have the unwavering and enthusiastic support from our fr iends in the community, who have enabled the continued growth of the Fund, sustaining the encouragement and boosting the confidence of our students. We look forward to enlisting more suppor t from donors and friends to continue our mission so that more worthy learners can be recognized and rewarded.

獎學金及優異獎得獎名單Scholarships & Prizes Awardee List

遙距課程香港公開大學獎學金本校於1993年獲無名氏捐贈三百八十餘萬元成立基金，每年以部份基金收入設立「香港公開大學獎學金」，嘉許成績優異的學生。本年度共頒發八個獎項予遙距課程的學生，合共九萬七百二十元。

中銀香港獎學金中銀香港慈善基金自1996年起每年捐款五萬元，為修讀工商管理課程的學生設一萬元獎學金五個。

陳漢祺獎學金陳志仁校友由2008年起為修讀李兆基商業管理學院學士課程的優異生，每年設五千元獎學金四個。

香港特許秘書基金獎學金（兼讀制學士課程）香港特許秘書基金於2000年設獎嘉許修讀企業行政學及企業管治學士課程的優異生。本年度派發六千五百元獎學金一個予兼讀制學士課程的學生。

香港特許秘書基金獎學金（深造課程）香港特許秘書基金由2002年起設獎嘉許修讀企業行政學及企業管治碩士課程的優異生，本年度設九千五百元獎學金一個予遙距碩士課程的學生。

廠商會獎學金香港中華廠商聯合會由2001年起捐設獎學金嘉許修讀與工商業有關課程的學生。本年度共派發八個獎項，每個價值三千元。

OUHK ScholarshipAn anonymous donor set up an endowment fund with a grant of more than $3.8 million at the OUHK in 1993 to make available scholarships for outstanding students. A total of eight awards amounted to $90,720 were disbursed to distance learning students this year.

Bank of China (Hong Kong) Scholarship The BOCHK Charitable Foundation started making an annual donation of $50,000 in 1996 to provide five scholarships of $10,000 each to outstanding students of Business and Administration programmes.

Chan Hon Kee ScholarshipAlumnus Mr Roger Chan Chi Yan has donated four annual scholarship awards of $5,000 each since 2008 to recognize the outstanding academic achievements of undergraduate students of the Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration.

Chartered Secretaries Scholarship (Part-time Undergraduate Programme)The Chartered Secretaries Foundation Limited has granted scholarships and subject prizes to undergraduate students of Corporate Administration and Corporate Governance programmes since 2000. One undergraduate scholarship of $6,500 was offered to part-time undergraduate student this year.

Chartered Secretaries Scholarship (Postgraduate Programme)The Chartered Secretaries Foundation Limited has granted scholarships and subject prizes to distance learning postgraduate students in Corporate Administration and Corporate Governance programmes since 2002. One postgraduate scholarship of $9,500 was offered this year.

CMA and Donors ScholarshipIn 2001, the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong extended its scholarship scheme to OUHK students taking industry and business-related programmes. A total of eight awards of $3,000 each were disbursed this year.

英皇慈善基金獎學金英皇慈善基金自2013年起每年設一萬元獎學金一個，嘉許李兆基商業管理學院學士課程的優異生。

葛量洪獎學金由民政事務局管理之「葛量洪獎學基金」自1997年起捐贈四個獎學金予本校學生，每個一萬元。1998年獎項增至每年十個，而2002年起更倍增至每年二十個。

香港潮州商會獎學金香港潮州商會為慶祝其八十周年會慶，於2001年捐出共十萬元，設立十個獎學金，分五年頒發。該會其後續添支持，每年設一萬元獎學金兩個，於2016年更將獎項數目增至每年三個。

Emperor Foundation ScholarshipThe Emperor Foundation has made available an annual scholarship of $10,000 to reward outstanding distance learning undergraduate students of the Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration, starting from 2013.

Grantham Scholarship The ‘Grantham Scholarships Fund’ managed by the Home Affairs Bureau started providing four annual scholarships of $10,000 each to OUHK students in 1997. The number of awards was increased to ten from 1998 and twenty from 2002 onwards.

Henry S T Tam Memorial ScholarshipEmeritus President Professor Tam Sheung Wai has made available an annual scholarship of $10,000 in memory of his late brother Mr Henry S T Tam, since 1997.

Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce ScholarshipIn commemoration of its 80th anniversary, Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce Limited donated $100,000 in 2001 to provide ten scholarships for disbursement in five years. The Chamber renewed their sponsorship through establishing two annual awards of $10,000 each. In 2016, the number of awards is increased to three.

Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants Scholarship (Postgraduate Programme)Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants set up an annual scholarship in 2002 for postgraduate students of accounting strand. One award of $6,000 was granted this year.

Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants Scholarship (Undergraduate Programme) Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants started providing scholarship awards to undergraduate students of accounting strand in 1998. Two undergraduate students were granted with an award of $6,000 each this year.

港燈環境學獎學金（深造課程）香港電燈有限公司於2008年成立獎學金，獎勵修讀環境學遙距或兼讀制面授課程的優異學生，現每年設五千元獎項一個予深造課程學生。

賽馬會社區健康教育獎學金香港賽馬會慈善信託基金為「健康學證書（社區健康護理）」及「健康學文憑（社區健康護理）」課程設立獎學金，勉勵成績優異及有經濟困難之學生繼續努力，設一萬五千元獎學金共三百個，分五年派發。本年度共六十名修讀「健康學文憑（社區健康護理）」課程學生獲頒發此獎學金。

Hongkong Electric Environmental Scholarship (Postgraduate Programme) The Hongkong Electric Company Limited established a scholarship scheme in 2008 to award distance learning or part-time face-to-face students who have performed outstandingly in Environmental Studies programmes. One award of $5,000 is made available every year for postgraduate students.

Jockey Club Community Healthcare Education ScholarshipThe Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust set up a scholarship scheme for outstanding students of the Certificate in Health Studies (Community Health Care) and Diploma in Health Studies (Community Health Care) programmes who have financial needs. The scholarship scheme will run for five years, providing a maximum of three hundreds awards of $15,000 each. This year, a total of sixty students were granted the award.

Leung Chun Cheung ScholarshipAlumnus Mr Leung Chun Cheung has donated $75,000 in total since 2009 to offer scholarship to outstanding students. One scholarship of $5,000 was disbursed this year.

丁玉津伉儷紀念獎學金關丁茜琛校友由2004年起共捐款十八萬元，每年設五千元獎學金兩個，嘉許表現卓越的學生。

得獎學生：何廣鴻丁志城

香港公開大學校友獎學金校友獎學基金於2001年成立，用以設立獎、助學金，鼓勵成績優異或幫助有經濟需要的遙距課程學生。本年度共四名遙距課程學生獲頒發一萬元獎學金。

香港公開大學李冠春教育基金獎學金本校榮譽博士李志喜資深大律師於1999年為就讀香港公開大學的殘疾、在囚及新來港人士提供助學金資助，2006年再捐款八百萬元成立「香港公開大學李冠春教育基金」，每年設獎學金予有經濟需要的優異生，另設助學金資助在囚、殘疾、長期病患及新來港人士。李志喜大律師於2012年續添支持，捐款五百萬元，為更多同學提供獎、助學金。現時每年派發一萬元獎學金十個。

高美慶教授獎學金前人文社會科學院院長高美慶教授由2004年起，每年為該學院遙距課程的優異生設立一萬元獎學金一個。

李鉅能獎學金本校榮譽博士李鉅能博士於2007年捐款五百萬元成立「李鉅能教育基金」，每年設獎嘉許二十名成績優秀的學生，每個獎項一萬元。

Mr & Mrs Ting Yu Ching Memorial Scholarship Alumna Mrs Kwan Ting Sai Sum has contributed a total of $180,000 since 2004 to provide two annual scholarships of $5,000 each to recognize students who have achieved academic excellence.

OUHK Alumni ScholarshipEstablished in 2001, the OUHK Alumni Scholarship and Bursary Fund offers annual scholarships and bursaries for outstanding and needy students of distance learning programmes respectively. Four scholarships of $10,000 each were disbursed this year.

The OUHK Li Koon Chun Education Fund ScholarshipOUHK Honorary Doctorate recipient Miss Gladys Li, SC, JP first donated bursaries to support students with disabilities, prison inmates and new arrivals to continue their studies in 1999. In 2006, she set up ‘The OUHK Li Koon Chun Education Fund’ with a donation of $8 million to provide scholarships to outstanding students who have financial needs and bursaries for students with chronic diseases in additional to existing beneficiary groups. The sponsorship was renewed and boosted by a further donation of $5 million in 2012. Ten scholarships of $10,000 each are made available every year.

Solomon Lee ScholarshipOUHK Honorary Doctorate recipient Dr Solomon Lee donated $5 million in 2007 to establish an education fund to grant twenty outstanding awards of $10,000 each every year.

昇華實業有限公司獎學金自2004年開始，昇華實業有限公司先後捐款共八十三萬元設獎學金獎勵本校學生，每年頒發一萬元獎項四個。

The scholarships are dedicated to reward outstanding final year students taking full-time Computing or Information Technology programmes.

Zheng Jian Peng Scholarship Alumnus Mr Zheng Jian Peng donated $120,000 to establish Dr T Y Cheng Memorial Scholarship to commemorate his late teacher in 2014. He further donated another $180,000 in 2015 to set up a 3-year scholarship scheme to reward outstanding final year students of full-time undergraduate students enrolled in Accounting programmes. A total of three awards of $20,000 each were disbursed this year.

自資專上獎學金得獎名單Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Awardee List

政府自資專上教育基金於2011年設立「自資專上獎學金計劃」，向在非牟利院校修讀全日制自資副學位或學士學位課程的學生頒發獎學金，旨在推動本港自資專上院校的優質及持續發展。計劃設有五個項目，分別是最佳進步獎、展毅獎學金、卓越表現獎學金、外展體驗獎以及才藝發展獎學金。

最佳進步獎最佳進步獎為鼓勵和表揚有顯著進步和改善的學生而設。本年度共四十六名公大學生獲頒發此獎項，每個獎項的金額為一萬元。

The Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme was set up in 2011 by the Self-financing Post-secondary Education Fund of the Hong Kong Government to offer scholarships and awards to students pursuing full-time self-financing sub-degree or bachelor’s degree programmes at self-financing tertiary institutions. The Scheme aims to promote quality and sustainable development of the self-financing post-secondary education sector. There are five types of scholarships established under the Scheme, namely: Best Progress Award, Endeavour Scholarship, Outstanding Performance Scholarship, Reaching Out Award and Talent Development Scholarship.

Best Progress AwardThe Best Progress Award was established to encourage and recognize students with significant progress and improvement. A total of forty-six OUHK students were awarded Best Progress Award. The value of each award is $10,000 this year.

Outstanding Performance ScholarshipThe Outstanding Performance Scholarship aims to recognize students with outstanding academic performance and strong leadership. 梁朗瑩自小便對設計、創作及廣告十分有興趣，中學時已選修視覺藝術科，希望可於大學修讀與設計和創作相關的課程。她認為一段短片、一張圖片或一句標語，已可構造出一個十分吸引人的廣告，引導觀眾作出相應的行動，甚至令人記得一輩子，是一件很奇妙的事。故此，她經常留意及研究不同廣告文案及影片，期望有朝一日可創作出令人難忘的廣告。中學文憑試後，她順利入讀公大的「創意廣告及媒體設計榮譽文學學士」全日制課程，現為該課程的三年級學生。

對於在大學生涯中首次得到獎學金的朗瑩而言，意義十分重大，除了是對她努力學習的肯定，亦給予她成功感和精神上的鼓勵，更增添動力繼續追求卓越。「同時獲頒兩項獎學金實在令我感到驚喜萬分，十分感謝贊助人無私的贊助，更感謝香港公開大學及提名我的老師。我亦要多謝父母的支持及鼓勵，他們不但供書教學，亦在我遇到困難及挫折時，鼓勵我勇往直前，讓我克服一個又一個的挑戰。」朗瑩說。

朗瑩計劃善用獎學金購買參考書及媒體設計軟件，並繼續進修日文，希望畢業後到日本留學，體驗當地文化、藝術和創意工業，擴闊視野，增廣見聞，尋找更多創作靈感，裝備自己日後投身創意行業，追求夢想。

Leung Long-ying has always been passionate about design, creative arts and advertising since she was young. She took Visual Arts as one of her elective subjects in secondary school and has always longed to further her study in design and creative arts in university. She is fascinated by the magic of good advertising, which can convey tons of messages and change someone’s behaviour by just using a short video, an image or a brief slogan. She is particularly attracted to advertising campaigns and copies, and hopes that one day she could create her own advertisements that would never be forgotten by others.

Leung opted for the OUHK’s Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Creative Advertising and Media Design programme after completing the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination. She is now in her third year of study.

This is the first time that Leung is awarded with scholarships in her university studies. To her, the awards are not only recognition of her hard work but are also the motivation for her to improve and excel. “Receiving two scholarships at the same time is a very pleasant surprise. I feel truly grateful to my donors, the University as well as my teachers for their kind support. I would also like to thank my parents for their financial and emotional support, which carried me through all the challenges and difficulties.” Leung said.

She is planning to use the scholarships on reference books, media design software and Japanese language classes as she hopes to study abroad in Japan after graduating from the OUHK to develop a deeper understanding about Japanese culture, arts and creative industries, and to broaden her horizons. Leung believes that this would not only enable her to acquire new knowledge and gain inspiration about the creative industry, but would also equip her to pursue her future career and dreams.

梁坤才 Paul Leung Kwan-choi

梁坤才（Paul）對化驗及實驗室研究工作抱有濃厚興趣，他副學士畢業後，首份工作為實驗室助理，主要負責混凝土、鋼筋及土壤化學測試。工作不久後，他已深切體會到學歷對日後事業發展有着重要的影響，故於2011年報讀了公大的應用科學（生物及化學）榮譽理學士遙距課程，希望能夠增強自己的專業知識及技能，在工作上有更出色的表現；在進修的過程中，他亦轉到現職的國際質量檢測公司擔任助理化驗師。

Paul 在公大進修初期，曾因不習慣遙距學習的模式而感到苦惱。後來得導師指導及勉勵，慢慢掌握到適合自己的學習方法，亦逐漸在工作及學習中取得平衡，成績更有明顯的進步，成功於2015年取得榮譽學士學位。對此，他十分感謝家人的體諒，自言因學習而減少了與家人相處的時間，但他們亦毫無怨言，默默支持。他亦衷心感激上司的鼓勵及支持，更對他的進修計劃給予建議，又為配合他的上課時間，安排他由夜更轉為日更工作。

Paul 表示得獎不單減輕了他的學費開支，更是對他努力不懈的肯定。「記得在公大進修數年，幾乎每晚及週末均會回校溫習及做功課，十分刻苦。而是次得獎正好證明努力耕耘，必有收獲。」他現正於另外一所本地大學攻讀分析化學理學碩士課程，期望有助化驗研究工作，令事業更上一層樓。

Paul Leung Kwan-choi has a strong interest in analytical science and laboratory testing work. After obtaining an associate-degree, he got his first job as a laboratory assistant and is mainly responsible for chemical testing of concrete cubes and cores, steel reinforcing bars and soil. However, it did not take him long to realize the importance of higher academic qualifications for career advancement. Therefore in 2011, he enrolled in the OUHK’s Bachelor of Science in Applied Science with Honours (Biology and Chemistry) programme, hoping to improve his professional knowledge and skills to enhance his work performance. While he was studying at the OUHK, he joined an international quality assurance agency as an assistant chemist.

At the beginning of his study at the OUHK, Paul did find the distance learning mode of study difficult. Luckily he got some good advice and encouragement from tutors which helped him to identify the study methods that best suited him. He gradually found the balance between work and study and successfully completed his programme in 2015. Looking back in the past few years’ of study, he felt grateful for his family’s unconditional support. He has sacrificed a lot of family time, but they were always there to support him and never complained. He also thanked his supervisor for giving him many valuable advice and encouragement, and even re-scheduled his work shifts to accommodate his study.

In addition to monetary reward, Paul sees the scholarship as an important recognition for his hard work and perseverance in the past few years. “I still remember how hard it was to work during the day and to spend almost every night and weekend studying at the University. This scholarship certainly proves that no hard work goes unrewarded.” He is now studying a Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry programme in another local university to further enhance his knowledge in preparation for better career development.
