SCHOLARSHIP FAMILIES GIVE THANKS How thankful we are that because of a large family of donors to “EWA Scholarships and Student Support” our students can be in educational environments that teach about our Lord and Savior Jesus. Our desire is for them to come to know Him personally, and learn how to call upon Him in all circumstances of their lives. The following are unedited letters of appreciation that have been sent in by students and parents. “Dear Supporter: I'm thankful for this school and Gods love for all of us, and for all the teachers who take their time out for us students, and teachers like Mrs. Kozma who teachers spanish, a different language – now thats a talent. And, our music teacher, she's funny and mainly happy. And lastly our homeroom teacher, shes calm like Mrs. Bloodgood, who taught us everythinng that we learned last year and I like everything about the new school.” (From one of our students at BCA!) “Dear Supporter: Thank you for paying my tuition in full. I always believe that God has a reason for everything that happens. At first, the future was unclear. I didn't think about going to Baldwinsville Christian Academy. Then, I heard that someone generously paid my way. I won't take this school lightly because not everyone gets a chance to go to a private school that teaches about the Bible. God used you to work for Him to help me pay for a school tuition. I appreciate how this has made me feel more thankful about the little things that I have. I thank you again for taking your time to help me. You've paved a way for more opportunities for me and blessings for you. I'll do my best and try my hardest in school because now I have a story on how someone paid my way.” Thank you for giving me a chance to go to a great school!” (From one of our students at BCA!) “Dear Supporter: We appreciate your love and your great effort to help our kids to go to Faith Heritage School. We are really happy that God is helping us through you. It is such a big blessings of God. May God bless you abundantly. Hope you are pleased with the grades of my children. Because I have seen my kids work hard, so thank you very much. May God bless you and protact you!” (From a dad of two of our students at FHS, who came to America three years ago as refugees.) With my voice I cry out to the LORD; with my voice I plead for mercy to the LORD. I pour out my complaint before him; I tell my trouble before him.” Psalm 142:1, 2 Thanksgiving Day is nationally recognized as a holiday, typically where most businesses and schools are closed, so that people can gather and reflect on things to be thankful for. For Believers, we understand that giving thanks is not relegated to a date on a calendar, but a posture that we should take before the Lord God, recognizing Who He is and what He has done for us. We are often good “forgetters,” however, when it comes to thanking, probably because we get caught up in our own circumstances in life: when the sun is shining, we don't need the Lord, and when it is storming, we tend to grumble. But, we are commanded to give thanks to God! This is difficult to do if we base our thanks on how we're doing in life. However, Scripture makes it clear that we are to give thanks based on Who God is. In the above verses, we find David crying out to the Lord to help him in his desperate situation. In pondering this, the thought came that even in a dire state such as David is in, we can be thankful that we have a God to Whom we can call upon in strong supplications, often through tears and pain. Being able to come boldly before the Throne of Grace, because of what the Lord Jesus has done for us is cause for loudest praise, regardless of our current extremity. It is a great privilege and comfort to pour out our souls before a “completely sovereign, infinitely wise and perfectly loving” Father in Heaven. Let us be more mindful to thank God for “His indescribable gift” of the Lord Jesus! SCHOLARSHIP FAMILIES GIVE THANKS

How thankful we are that because of a large family of donors to “EWA Scholarships and Student Support” our students can be in educational environments that teach about our Lord and Savior Jesus. Our desire is for them to come to know Him personally, and learn how to call upon Him in all circumstances of their lives.

The following are unedited letters of appreciation that have been sent in by students and parents.

“Dear Supporter: I'mthankful for this school andGods love for all of us, and forall the teachers who take theirtime out for us students, andteachers like Mrs. Kozma whoteachers spanish, a differentlanguage – now thats a talent. “Dear Supporter: Thank you for paying my tuition in full. I always believe that God has a reason for everything that happens. At first, the future was unclear. Psalm 142:1, 2

Thanksgiving Day is nationally recognized as a holiday, typically where most businesses and schools are closed, so that people can gather and reflect on things to be thankful for. AN ENGLISH ASSIGNMENT

One of the FHS teachers at FHS assigned aninterview project. One of our scholarship studentsinterviewed her mother. We print this with theirpermission, in order to give some insight into thehardships some of our families have experiencedbefore coming to America, and how attending aprivate Christian school would be impossible if notfor faithful supporters.

My mom was born in 1977 in Bhutan. As a baby, she was born deaf and shecould not speak properly. When my grandpa called her she couldn't hear, so hethrew a rock at her. When she was about five or six, she was sick for threemonths. One thing she loved to do was play with her friends and cousins. At theage of seven, she had to stop playing with friends. She learned a lot about how tocook and do other chores because she knew that she needs to learn to do those forher future. As she started to learn more of cooking and other chore stuff, shestarted loving to do them. Every morning she had to get water from a well andshe had to go barefoot. There were a lot of cold stones and they were alsohurtful! She made corn flour with her mom. Her family had a very small farmwhere she had to feed the goats, pigs, and cows. She had to take all the cows ona very far land where the cows get to eat grass. My mom had to get woods fromthe jungle but she was scared of the animals in the jungle. And she had toharvest rice, if she didn't, then she would've gotten in trouble. When she wasthirteen, her family and many other people were forced to get out from theBhutan because the Bhutanese Army force them. They went to Nepal asrefugees. She had to get married when she was thirteen. She was married to mydad, YAY!!! She only got to stay with him for three months because he diedwhen my mom was two months pregnant with me. Suddenly, he died withoutseeing me and neither did I get to see him ever. It's sad BUT, my mom gotremarried, but she did not want to. After I was two and five months old, mysister was born. When my sister was two and two months, my baby brother wasborn! I became seven and we moved to America. After that we live HAPPILYEVER AFTER! The purpose for the interview was to know how difficult her lifewas. The End!

We trulyfeelblessedby theLordthat Hehas ourlivesintersect

with families like this one. Despite incredible difficulties of lack of formaleducation, being deaf and now living in a community that is plagued with crime, our partnership with FHS has the opportunity to be a tool in God's hands to helpthe children learn and prepare them for the work that He has planned for them todo. It is a pure joy to have the children in our midst, reminding us that there arefamilies in our area whom He wants us to serve, bringing them from differentparts of the world, to our doorstep, to be part of His great Kingdom work.

STUDENT PHOTOS

We are sending a revised photo sheet of our students with their prayer partners listed. Looking at the list of adults whom the Lord has raised up to be committed to praying for and encouraging a student is amazing. Thereare wonderful relationships being formed, and I know that the adults are being blessed as much as the students areby getting to know one another!!!

(Please note, that on the photo page in the last mailing, we accidentally switched Dawn's and Sarah's name, but this new page has that corrected!)

CHRISTMAS GIVING THROUGH EAGLE WINGS ACADEMY

One of our supporters recently contacted us regarding a special need EWA may have. It is a tradition in their family for the siblings to get together and choose a Christian ministry to bless in their parents' honor. After thinking about what to do with the money, we kept coming back to using it for an “INFORMATIONAL LUNCHEON,” giving us the opportunity to share first-hand how the Lord is using “EWA Scholarships and Student Support” in our new role. We approached FHS Headof School, Neal Capone, about using the school as the location, and he is totally on board! Juli Boeheim readily agreed to be our hostess once again. We have scheduled this for February 14. Look for the time and other details in the next newsletter, but meanwhile, be thinking of someone you know who may want to learn about what EWA now “looks like and sounds like.” Praise the Lord for this wonderful gift!!!.We had another EWA Lunch in December.

The students heard a devotional and received a candy treat!

HAPPENING NOW...LATE BREAKING NEWS

It is with great gratitude, and yet heavy hearts, that we are announcing that RonSouthwick will no longer be with Eagle Wings. The Lord has used him fornearly ten years to help us lay a solid foundation in the office operations, as wellas in many students' lives. Because Ron's primary gifting lies in technical areas,he approached us early in the school year regarding finding someone who hadmore academic and social abilities, which the Support Coordinator job requires.Ron was most instrumental in making the transition from being an all-day school

to who we are now, working over thesummer until the Christmas Break. It'sbecause of the work he has done, that ournew coordinator will be able to focus onthe supports we provide for our students. So, we pray God's blessings on Ron andhis new endeavors.

It is with great rejoicing that we announcethat Nicole Bloodgood will be our newStudent Support Coordinator. Because sheis a certified teacher, who has taught withus for three years, and worked as ourAcademic Coordinator for one year, shehas an excellent understanding of whatour students need to help prepare them for“life.” The training that Ron provided,

coupled with her own technical skills, is ensuring that we will be able to operatethe business part of the office pretty smoothly! While praying for the Lord'sleading for months, Nicole had her own request to the Lord. The following is theemail she sent when her husband decided that she is the one for this job.

You'll never guess which verse was used as a part of the sermonillustration at our church tonight. Isaiah 40:31!!! It was in theopening passage and came up in the theme of the message. Isaiah40:31 was one of the verses that I asked the Lord to use to showme it was His will for me to work for EWA (for obvious reasons)(it being our theme verse). God is so good! I feel so thankful andso unworthy of His care for me. What a blessing of confirmationfor not only me, but our whole family! Praise the Lord!

When Nicole came to the office on Monday, 12/10, to officially begin her work, one of the student's memory verse of the week just happened to be Isaiah40:31!!! I think we all got the Lord's message loudand clear!
