David Evans Memorial ScholarshipMONETARY AWARD: 6 credit-hour min. up to $1,500GUIDELINES: Available to incoming freshman or transfer students enrolled in a diploma or an associate degree program; Must prove veteran qualification/status or must verify legal dependency status of a veteran; Minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA. Recipient must not qualify for any other source of financial aid. Scholarship is renewable for a second year. David Nuckols Memorial ScholarshipMONETARY AWARD: up to full tuition, five (5) credit hour minimum. OCTC FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS
The deadline to submit the Scholarship Application is April 1 each year. (Applications received after April 1 will be considered if funds are available.) To apply please complete the following:
SCHOLARSHIPS1. Complete the online OCTC Scholarship Application.2. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov and make sure to include OCTC’s school code (030345).3. Submit at least one letter of recommendation from someone who is not related to you (for example, a high school counselor, an employer, coach, or teacher).
OCTC Community Healthcare ScholarshipEstablished by Ms. Jean WellsGUIDELINES: Available to students enrolled in a nursing pathway program with a preference for students who plan to work with the aging population; Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required: Enrolled in six (6) credit hours or more.
OCTC Foundation ScholarshipGUIDELINES: OCTC students; Minimum 2.5 GPA first semester, 3.0 GPA thereafter; Must reapply each academic year.
Ohio County ScholarshipEstablished by the Bank of Ohio CountyGUIDELINES: Must be an Ohio County resident; Enrolled full or part-time (6 or more hours) in a Diploma, Certificate or Associate Degree program; Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.
OMHS Workforce ScholarshipGUIDELINES: Available to students enrolled full or part-time (6 or more hours) in a Certificate, Diploma or Associate Degree program; preference given to students majoring in healthcare fields that contribute to workforce development in high-need areas and students who plan to transfer into baccalaureate degree programs in areas of strategic benefit to the Commonwealth Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required; May be used for tuition, fees or books.

OCTC ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIPSBurmese Heritage and ELL ScholarshipGUIDELINES: Available to students of Burmese nationality and/or students whose primary language is non-English. Students must be enrolled in a certificate or degree program and the scholarship can be used for tuition, books and program related expenses. Lester E. Hager Scholars ProgramMONETARY AWARD: $500 per semesterGUIDELINES: Must be enrolled in an associate’s degree program; COmposite ACT of 23 or higher; Minimum high school GPA of 3.4. Applicants will be evaluated based on academic performance, standarized test scores, and leadership qualities demonstrated through essays and interviews.
KCTCS SCHOLARSHIPSCommonwealth ScholarshipGUIDELINES: Kentucky resident; Students in top 25% of high school class (including past graduates); Enrolled in six (6) credit hours or more. Scholarship is renewable for second year by completing a scholarship application and having successfully completed 24 credit hours at a KCTCS institution and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
John T. Smith ScholarshipGUIDELINES: Must be enrolled in six (6) or more credit hours; African-American; Kentucky resident; Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.
The Kentucky Colonels Better Life ScholarshipMONETARY AWARD: $2,500 per yearGUIDELINES: Must be full-time student pursuing a KCTCS Associate degree; Kentucky resident; Single working parent with one or more children under the age of 12; Must demonstrate financial need.

President’s ScholarshipGUIDELINES: Minimum 3.0 GPA required; ACT of 19 or COMPASS equivalent. Returning students must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
William Foster Tichenor Tuition ScholarshipGUIDELINES: Available to a sophomore nursing student (30 hours completed and admitted to the nursing program); Must have unmet need as demonstrated by the FAFSA; Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
Workforce Development/Transfer ScholarshipMONETARY AWARD: $3,000 to a first-year student; $4,000 to second year studentsGUIDELINES: Must be a full or part time degree-seeking student enrolled in the STEM disciplines, health professions, career pathway programs, teacher shortage areas or applied sciences OR must declare intention to pursue an associate’s degree in an area of workforce need at a KCTCS institution; Must declare intention to pursue a baccalaureate degree upon graduating from KCTCS with an associate’s degree.
EXTERNAL SCHOLARSHIPSE. B. Burgess ScholarshipGUIDELINES: Must be a member of the Green River Federal Credit Union and/or immediate family member.
J. Rogers Badgett, Sr. Foundation ScholarshipMONETARY AWARD: up to full tuition (12 cred. hours)GUIDELINES: Available only to graduates of Hancock County High School who plan to attend OCTC and then transfer to WKU-O to complete a bachelor’s degree. Special consideration will be given to students with the greatest financial need.
N.O. Kimbler ScholarshipMONETARY AWARD: up to $1,600 per yearGUIDELINES: Student must be an Education major
Women in Support of Education (WISE) ScholarshipGUIDELINES: Must be a female with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA as a continuing student, or a minimum ACT composite score of 19 or minimum COMPASS Reading score of 84 and minimum COMPASS English score of 65 for a high school student is required. Preference given to those who demonstrate financial need. (Separate Application Required)
