LATE ARRIVAL/EARLY LEAVERS
Any child arriving to school after 8.30am is required to attend the office with a parent/guardian, to obtain a late
pass. If your child is leaving school early, the parent/guardian is required to send a note with their child on the
morning informing the classroom teacher of the time they will be collected and who will be collecting them.
The parent/guardian is required to sign the child out at the office, where arrangements will be made for the
child to come up to office.
ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL
If your child is absent from school for any reason, we require parents/guardians to notify the school office that
they won’t be attending. When your child returns to school, a note must be given to their teacher detailing the
date and the reason for the absence.
If your child has any long term absences from school, (e.g. holidays, extended illness etc.) a note is required to
be given to their teacher informing them of the absence prior to them commencing the absence.

PRINCIPAL WRITES
100 DAYS of SCHOOL
PREP ENROLMENTS for 2016
Parents of current students at Bellbridge who have a younger sibling who will be starting Prep in 2016 are strongly
encouraged to enrol now.
In the first week in August, I will be informing the Education Department of our predicted enrolments and our accuracy in
predicting Prep enrolments is critical due to classroom space and staffing.
Please contact the Office if you wish to arrange a tour or a chat with a member of the Leadership Team prior to enrolling.
PARENT FORUM for our SCHOOL REVIEW
We appreciated the effort made by a small group of parents who provided valuable input with a focus on the progress
made by our school over the past four years. Their comments and suggestions will be included in our School Self
Evaluation document that is an important element of our School Review. Some of the feedback included the following:
What is going well at our school? What are areas for improvement at our school?
SWPBS program, consistent expectations, celebrations
Orientation and transition is a great experience
Focus and follow up about student attendance
Communication with parents, Facebook page
Flexibility in teaching to challenge each child’s abilities;
giving work at a higher level
Homework reflects classroom practices
Use of student diaries and communication books
Teachers are approachable
Lunch time and extra curricula activities
Parent involvement; parent groups/activities
Have more regular school reviews, not just every four
years
Share professional development opportunities with
parents, e.g. Auslan, Maths, Reading
Use the newsletter to really sell the things the school
does well, e.g. students’ stories, poems; student & parent
achievements
Sometimes the reports don’t explain students’ progress;
can feel cut & paste at times
Consistency and structure with classroom routines in
grade levels, e.g. spelling test, reading take home books
PARENT OPINION SURVEY
A special envelope containing information about the annual Parent Survey was sent home earlier this week to
approximately 110 randomly selected families. This survey includes a set of questions about your level of satisfaction
regarding different aspects of our school. We value feedback from our parents as it helps us to make further plans for the
future success of our school. Your responses are due back at school by Friday, July 31st.
We appreciate the amount of parent support, feedback and input we have been receiving recently.
Our shared partnership is a key feature of our school culture.
Debbie Clancy
Principal
The students and staff in our Prep Team
celebrated the milestone of 100 days of school
this week. This included dressing up in clothes
and costumes that represented numbers,
dancing in a parade, and participating in a
range of maths activities based around the
number ‘100’.
A highlight of this special day was the Prep
teachers dressing up as 100-year-old ladies!

BELLBRIDGE OUT OF SCHOOL HOURS CARE
Parents, please let Joanne or Kate know if your child/ren is not attending the program on the day that they are
booked in. If you do not inform us, we need to charge you for that day.
For the next two weeks, we have Henny Penny eggs in our room, and we have four beautiful little chicks and
hope to have more hatching this week. Please feel free to drop in and have a look.
If your child/ren require medication to be administered at the program, please make sure that their medication is
in the original package and that you fill out the medication book so we can administer it to your child/ren.
All accounts must be paid by the due date stated on your invoice. If your account is three weeks overdue, your
child/ren will not be able to access the program until paid in full.
ASTHMA FORMS
For any student who suffers from asthma the school must have an action plan in the student’s file in case of an
emergency. If your child suffers from asthma, please send the form back to school as soon as possible. It is
important that we have this information on hand so as we can assist your child effectively.
Interested Parents and Friends are invited to meet with Mrs Clancy and members of the Leadership Team
for an informal chat after Assembly on Monday each week. Pre-schoolers are welcome.
