Ms. Misty Belford was elected to th e Sch ool Board in Novem ber, 2014. Sh e h as been an educational advocate in Brevard County for several years, volunteering both at th e sch ool level and th e district level in num erous capacities. In addition to h er work with Brevard Public Sch ools, Mrs. Belford is an adjunct professor at Rollins College in Winter Park teach ing courses in com m unication and leadersh ip. Sh e is a drowning prevention advocate serving as volunteer President for Swim Safe Forever, Inc. and providing self-rescue swim instruction th rough h er com pany, KidSafe Swim Institute, Inc. in north Brevard. Sh e earned both h er bach elor’s degree in organizational com m unication and h er m aster’s degree in corporate com m unication and tech nology at Rollins College. Mr. John Craig was elected to th e Sch ool Board in Novem ber, 2014. He is th e proud fath er of two Brevard Public Sch ools students and presently serves as a com m ercial airline pilot for JetBlue Airways out of Orlando as well as serving as th e governm ent relations liaison for Craig T ech nologies. Mr. Craig graduated in th e top of h is class from th e United States Naval Academ y in 1987 with a Bach elor of Science in Political Science, serving in num erous Midsh ipm en leadersh ip positions. He also earned h is m aster’s in business adm inistration from Florida Institute of T ech nology in 2014. Mr. Craig left active duty in May, 2003 as a com m ander and transitioned to th e Navy Reserve. He is currently th e com m anding officer of Navy Region South east NEPLO Detach m ent. Mr. Craig’s volunteer work includes service on th e Board of Directors for Brevard Zoo, LEAD Brevard and th e Cocoa Beach Ch am ber of Com m erce Military Affairs Council. Ms. Amy J. Kneessy was elected to th e Sch ool Board in 2004. Sh e is currently an adjunct m ath instructor for Brevard Com m unity College in Palm Bay. Prior to h er position on th e sch ool board, Mrs. Kneessy served as an academ ic advisor for Florida Air Academ y. Sh e h as experience in special education, both in Florida and Indiana. Ms. Kneessy h olds a Bach elor of Science degree in Math Education from Indiana State University. Sh e also h olds a Master of Science degree in sch ool counseling from Butler University in Indianapolis. Additional graduate certifications from Indiana University include Educational Leadersh ip and Special Education. Ms. Hen derso n worked at Ken n edy Space Cen ter for seven years before movin g to W ashin gto n to work as a computer co n sultan t an d process improvemen t specialist. Mr. Andy Ziegler was elected to th e Brevard County Sch ool Board in 2008. Mr. Ziegler h as served 20 years with th e Rotary Club of Palm Bay h olding num erous Board positions including President. Ziegler graduated from th e Florida Institute of T ech nology with a Bach elor of Science degree in Com puter Science. Mr. Ziegler is an h onorary lifetim e m em ber of th e Melbourne Beach Volunteer Fire Departm ent h aving served with th em for seven years. He h as served on th e Sch ool Board’s Audit Com m ittee as well as serving on th e Sch ool Im provem ent Com m ittees at Melbourne High Sch ool, Central Middle Sch ool, Meadowlane Elem entary Sch ool and Port Malabar Elem entary Sch ool.
