(Part 2)Mel: “How did you decide to go into this particular field – how did you start down the civil engineering path to begin with?”Jessica Rodriguez-Gomez: “To start in Civil Engineering, it was really quite interesting… Neither of my parents graduated from college. My brother had been through college, but he was a music major. So, when I went to college, one of my high school counselors said to me – Well what are you going to major in? I told her – I don’t really know. She said – well you’re pretty good at math and science, so engineering would probably be a good field for you…”
