Scenario in India 3 percent of India’s children are estimated to be
mentally challenged 15 million children >10 years 10 million are boys and 5 million are girls.
20 of every 1000 children in rural India are disabled as compared to 16 of 1000 urban children.
Only 2% of disabled children enjoy the privilege of going to school.
