SCHOOL HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS SUN PRINTS with Cecilie Knowles Monday 13 January Ages: 6+ from 10am - 12pm Ages: 11+ from 1pm - 3pm East Room, Orange Regional Gallery Cost: $20 Inspired by Bill Moseley’s exhibition A Lake, a Forest and the Dark Voice of the Sea this workshop introduces young artists to the vintage photographic process of cyanotype—a simple, safe (and slightly magical) process that harnesses the power of the sun. Starting with a mini tour of the exhibition, students will learn about the artist’s ideas and processes before heading back to the studio to create their own series of beautiful blue photograms. DAYS OF SUMMER - Lino with Laretta Goodacre Tuesday 14 January, 10am - 12pm East Room, Orange Regional Gallery Ages: 10+ Cost: $20 Taking inspiration from Salvatore Zofrea’s lively lino print exhibition Days of Summer young artists will learn to prepare, cut and print lino blocks of their own. Students will experiment with different techniques to add colour and texture to their work and create their own set of limited edition prints to take home. This workshop includes a mini tour of Salvatore Zofrea: Days of Summer. MYSTERIOUS CLAY SEA CREATURES with Cecilie Knowles Wednesday 15 January, 10am - 12pm East Room, Orange Regional Gallery Ages: 6+ Cost: $20 Young artists will create their own mystical deep sea creatures in this playful workshop that explores, pattern shape and texture in clay. Children will use reference images and their imagination to draw their creature before transferring it onto clay. This workshop includes a mini tour of Bill Moseley: A Lake, a Forest and the Dark Voice of the Sea and Ros Auld: Adventures in Ceramics for inspiration. THE FOREST – DROP-IN FAMILY WORKSHOP Thursday 16 and Friday 17 January Session 1 - 10am - 12pm Session 2 - 1pm - 3pm West Room, Orange Regional Gallery All Ages FREE Families are invited to drop into our activity space and explore the theme of The Forest through hands-on art-making activities. Make a brilliant bug, a fantastic fungi or a curious creature to add to our collaborative forest installation. Stay for ve minutes or fty - it’s up to you! Please note that this is a self-guided activity. An art educator will be available to assist during session times but all children must be accompanied by an adult. BOOKINGS: all bookings/payments through Eventbrite: http://orangeregionalgallery.eventbrite.com Please take note of the age requirements when booking. Children will require art-friendly clothing/apron and sturdy enclosed shoes. Things could get messy!
