ALTAR SERVERS
Students from 4th grade to high school are invited to serve at the altar on Sundays and Holy Days.
Serving at the altar is a privileged place to draw close to Jesus especially during Mass. Their service is very important to the priest and entire parish community.
An introductory training will be held in the Church tomorrow, Sept. 23 at 3:45PM. Please RSVP to Fr. Muka at [email protected].
SCHOOL PICTURES Wednesday, September 25th
All students in Preschool – Gr. 8 will have a photo taken for the yearbook. For a portrait package, please complete and return the order form distributed at Back to School Night. Attire for the day is the regular school uniform or Dress-Up. If students have gym class on Wednesday, they may dress for the photo and change into the gym uniform after their picture is taken. This is not a Dress Down Day. Jeans are not permitted.

MMR STREAM NIGHT
The STREAM Department is holding the fifth annual MMR STREAM night on Thursday, November 21 2019 from 6–8:30pm. This event is a fan favorite for our 4th through 8th grade students. The STREAM teachers are in need of volunteers in STREAM careers to come and speak to the students in small group settings. The students love hearing about the various careers and perhaps doing a small career related activity with our presenters. If you would be willing to share your talents with our MMR school students, please contact Mr. Gamza at [email protected] or Mrs. Bull at [email protected]. Thank you for considering.

DIRECTORY OPT OUT
We will soon be preparing our annual Family Directory. The directory will be published electronically. All families are automatically included unless we hear from you in writing that you do not want to be listed. Family data, including a primary email, must be listed in its entirety or not at all. We are unable to list partial information. To be excluded, email [email protected] by Friday, Sept. 27. This is also time to make sure we have been notified of any address, phone or email changes.
HSA FALL FESTIVAL

ODYSSEY OF THE MIND Odyssey of the Mind is a creative thinking competition for students in Gr. K – 8. It is rooted in the design process and has a similar philosophy of MMR’s Innovation Project. This international organization is designed to help children highlight their creativity in a positive, enriching competition at the local, state and world levels. If your child is an engineer, an actor, a costume designer, a writer, a mathematician or loves working in groups, then this after school activity might be what you are looking for. Mrs. Bull is hosting an info night for parents on Tuesday, Sept. 24 in Room 210 at 7pm. Parents who are looking for information or to find a team for their child should plan on attending. MMR Pre-School is in full swing! The four year olds learned all about the letter A. The hallway is adorned with aquariums, ants, alligators and astronaut stories. In Religion they thanked God for friends.
Our three year olds are working hard and learning all about apples. They painted apples and created their own apple trees. In Religion they thanked God for the gift of sight.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
FOR 2020-2021
For the past several years MMR School has been fortunate to receive tuition assistance from BLOCS, due in large part to the Educational Improvement Tax Credit program. These funds provide several school families with tuition assistance, allowing many children to continue their enrollment at MMR. Any family seeking these funds must apply directly to FACTS, following the established deadlines.
Applications for financial assistance for students who will be enrolled in Pre-School through 8th grade during the 2020-2021 school year are now available. FACTS processes the application on behalf of BLOCS. The required documents and application must be submitted to FACTS for returning and new applicants.
To begin the application process, use your current FACTS sign on information.

HELP NEEDED
Teachers are still in need of scrap paper with a blank side to use for drawing and other projects at school. If you have some paper lying around at home or old letterhead from the office, please consider sending it into school. Thank you!

NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR
MMR Student tickets are $5 per ticket and are for MMR Students ONLY, all students from other schools must purchase tickets from the Eventbrite website which can be accessed from the MMR School website. Sales will begin on Monday, September 23rd, all pre-sale ticket order forms and payments are due to Mrs. Bull by Thursday, October 3. Wristbands will be distributed to the students in homeroom before dismissal Friday October 4th. After Thursday, October 4, tickets will only be available online for $10.00 and availability is not guaranteed. Please send your form and payment into school in an envelope addressed to Mrs. Bull. Please use a separate form for each student.
Dance Time: 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM - Students may not be dropped off prior to 6:45 PM.
DRESS CODE: DRESS CODE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. Children who do not adhere to this policy will be unable to attend the dance. All bags will be checked at the door and will not be allowed into the gym or restroom. Backpacks brought to the dance are the responsibility of the owner. We will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.
Clothing may not have any reference to drugs, tobacco, alcohol, sex, gangs, and may not promote an un-Christian message.
Shorts and skirts must be in MODEST length. No tight tank tops. No midriff tops, low cut shirts, halter tops or see-through clothing. Spaghetti strap
shirts that are not low cut are acceptable. No low-cut pants. T-shirts will be given to students who are not dressed appropriately.

Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Elementary School is hosting Designer Bag Bingo on Friday,
October 18, 2019. The event is being held at MMR, starting at 7:00 P.M., with doors opening one
hour in advance at 6:00 P.M. Last year’s event was a complete sellout with over 300 guests in
attendance.
Women of all ages will have a chance to enjoy each other’s company and an opportunity to win
some fabulous designer handbags, including: Coach, Tory Burch, Michael Kors, Kate Spade.
To be successful, this event depends on both the people attending the event and sponsorships
from local businesses and organizations. You and your business are invited to be a part of this
exciting evening. This is a wonderful opportunity to have your business featured in front of an
audience of at least 300 attendees. Here are participation options for you to consider.
Sponsor a handbag—For a $250 donation you can sponsor one of the 14 handbags that have
been procured as Bingo prizes, and you will be featured on our school website as a donor.
Your business will be announced as the sponsor prior to and throughout that bingo game.
Sponsor a table—For a donation of $150 your business’s name and logo will be prominently
displayed on a table placard, and featured on our school website as a donor.
Be a friend of MMR School—Donations include cash gifts, gift cards or merchandise for raffle
baskets. Your business will be included in the program, listing all sponsors for this exciting
event.
Any donation is greatly appreciated. All proceeds will benefit Mary, Mother of the Redeemer
School’s capital improvement fund. If you would like to participate in one of the sponsorship

MMR MUNCHKINS’ PLAYGROUP
Do you have a child under the age of six? Come and join the Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Munchkins’ Playgroup! It is a place where
your child can play, learn, and grow with children his or her own age. And, it is FREE! Children meet once a month on Tuesdays from 9:30—11:30am. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, September 24th
from 9:30—11:30 a.m. where we will have a back to school craft and get-together. There will be doughnuts, juice and coffee for all
who attend. If you are unable to bring your child, a family member or caregiver is welcome to join the group, too! The more the
