Getting To
Know You
Interviews
Thursday
February 8th
Welcome back and a very Happy New Year to you. I am really excited to be back at school and I am feeling very energetic. It appears that our students are full of energy too! It was such fun greeting everyone on Tuesday morning and seeing the smiles on both our students and parent/carers faces, as you all entered the school: it made my day.
The school year has started well with such a positive vibe. Congratula-tions to all students and staff for your contribution to making our school the best it can be!
We welcome our new Prep students;
Prep students started on Thursday 1 February.
With Prep students attending school on a part-time basis over the first week of Term One, I am sure it will take a little time for them to adjust to five full days in March. We hope they all have a great time as they settle into school.
We also welcome Ms Amy Davies (Teacher of 3 / 4 B), Mr Josh West (Team teaching in 2 W), Mrs Donna Drum (Teacher of 2/3A, returning from maternity leave) and Ms Jacqui Righetti (Acting A.P) to our school.

School Council – WANTED DET Representatives
Thank you and welcome back to all parent and other staff members of SC. We are still in need of one DET representative on our won-derful School Council team. Come and be a part of our students’ ed-ucation and help to create an even better school for everyone in the community. Talk with current members or previous members to un-derstand what a staff person does on School Council and how you can make a difference to our school.
Please contact me as soon as possible to ensure you get the chance to participate.
This term provides many opportunities for families to be involved in the school; so come along and join in the celebrations. We would love to see you here!

Purpose of this policy
To ensure there is no smoking on our school grounds and near our school entrances. Smoking is prohibited within four metres of our school’s boundary.
Applying the ban
From 13 April 2015, smoking is banned within four metres of an entrance to all primary and sec-ondary schools in Victoria, and within the school grounds, under an amendment to the Tobacco Act 1987. A similar ban applying to the entrances and grounds of Victorian childcare centres and kindergartens is also in place.
To comply with our legislative requirement, our school has ‘No smoking’ signs at all entrances to our school grounds.
Our smoking ban applies to:
anyone present on school premises during and after school hours including students, teach-ers, contractors, parents/guardians or the wider community, such as sporting groups.
all activities that take place on school premises including pre-schools, kindergartens, outside school hours care, cultural, sporting or recreational activities and school fetes.
It also includes Electronic cigarettes.
