THE AQUINAS EXPERIENCE

HONORS DISTINCTION

The Upper School publicly recognizes

excellence in academic achievement,

every Semester, based on the following:

- Straight A’s in all subjects = Principal’s List

- A’s and B’s in all subjects = Honor Roll

CLASS RANK

Due to the college-preparatory nature of the school, the

transience of the community, and the small class sizes,

Aquinas American School does not believe that a class

rank gives a comprehensive perspective as to academic

performance and capacity. As a result, Aquinas does not

provide class rank for student’s academic credentials.

ACADEMIC CALENDAR

Aquinas operates on a schedule of two 18-week

semesters with examinations at the end of each

semester.

FIELD TRIPS & EXCHANGE PROGRAM

Teachers accompany students on numerous educational

fieldtrips in the Madrid Region. In addition, the school

provides the opportunity to spend a quarter or a

semester abroad in a school in the US in Middle & High

School.

Malvern Prep in Pennsylvania, PA

Providence Academy in Minnesota, MN

STUDENT COUNCIL

The Student Council is a service committee focused on

enhancing student life at AAS by organizing events and

activities that assist in forwarding the school’s mission

and goals. Social activities, community outreach,

volunteering at the school and community, spiritual ex-

ercises, teacher appreciation, Student game days and

other activities which might enhance student life are

group’s roles.

developing an appreciation for the humanities. Our

in these disciplines. Students may choose to participate in

different after school clubs and credit-granting electives

such as:

ATHLETICS

The Aquinas Bears represent the school in all sports com-

petitions. They demonstrate the nobility and strength of

the bear, which is a historical symbol of Madrid. Students

can choose to be part of any of these sponsored activities:
