Name of School FREMONT ELEMENTARY, GRANITE SCHOOL DISTRICT

Each School in Granite School District is required to develop local plans for reopening school for in-person instruction in the fall of 2020. This document can be used in conjunction with the USBE School Reopening Handbook, which provides recommended considerations to guide planning and additional details. The requirements contained in this template are subject to change and will be updated accordingly.

Develop teacher, staff, and student education and training on school’s reopening protocol and action plans

• Educate and train students and caregivers on school’s protocols and action plan; post and/or make accessible to school community

• Make materials available to families in their respective preferred/primary language

Create a process for students/families and staff to identify as high risk1 for severe illness due to COVID-19 and have a plan in place to address requests for alternative learning arrangements

• Provide distance learning option to at-risk students • Educate children and adults to stay home when ill • Isolate in separate room, pending pickup

Systematically review all current plans (e.g., Individual Healthcare Plans, Individualized Education Plans or 504 plans) for accommodating students with special healthcare needs and update their care plans as needed to decrease their risk for exposure to COVID-19

• Healthcare plans, 504s, etc., will be accommodated case by case, with notification to teacher and related staff • School personnel with health risks inform administration and use sick leave options through Human Resources

Mitigation Tactics for Specific School Settings LEA Mitigation Strategies for Specific School Settings

Analyze each of the following settings to determine the appropriate risk mitigation strategies to implement. Please consider the 7 Characteristics of a Situation as you plan your mitigation strategies.

Setting Mitigation Strategies

No school buses for students residing within school boundaries Parents arrange transportation for open enrollment students on their own

School buses only for Applied Behavior Analysis students ABA students are expected to use face coverings on the bus. Students wait for pickup in set areas with face coverings on Daycare vans in drive-thru lane or on street for student drop-off/pick-sup Students not picked up wait for office to call their parents

Restrooms Teach students proper handwashing after restroom use Stagger student release to use restrooms prior to recesses Remind students to leave restrooms clean

Before/After Student Supervision

Students arrive as close to start time as possible Students going to breakfast—spread out Those going outside stay in the playground, spread out Before-school supervision schedule After school, all staff step out and usher students off campus. Students maintain social distancing while waiting outside for parent pickup Office staff will contact parents around 4:00 on regular days and at 2:00 on planning/short days

Drop Off/Pick Up Areas Parents are reminded to pull forward in the drop-off lane in the mornings and afternoons Avoid waiting in drive-thru lane; kindly use a parking stall Staff on duty to monitor pedestrians and safe driving

Front Office Patrons to call ahead to schedule visit Face coverings are required of all entering the office and/or visiting the school Maintain social distancing Wait outside if 3 or 4 patrons are in the office Call the office or use virtual meetings to conduct business



P/T or SEP Conferences Google Meet for SEPs if on modified schedule and arranged on Online Scheduler Review data on Parent Portal, with teachers sharing student progress Alternate arrangements for phone or virtual appointments at another time

Safety and Fire Drills Emergency and regular exits are assigned per grade for regular and modified schedules

Library/Media Centers Modified schedule: Teachers work with the Media Assistant to coordinate book selection, isolation of books returned, and check-out of other books Students select books on Destiny and Media Asst. visits class with cart of books for brief visits Students remain in their classrooms The use of Sora app is strongly encouraged to protect all readers

IEP/Special Ed Meetings When on regular schedule: Meet in person and scheduled with SPED Team Discuss and sign off on agreed-upon plans On modified schedule: Face to face or virtual when previously scheduled Teachers to send out drafts of documents prior to meeting Parent/s and SPED Team must attend
