I love to sing and write and be with friends. Also, I was born in Peru, but my family is German. I speak English, German, and Spanish.

Recycling is really important to Colegio Americano because we are taught to help save our world by recycling, reducing, and reusing. We do this by recycling different items and putting them in distinctive bins. The blue bins are for plastic; plastic bottles that are labelled number 1 or 2 and yoghurt bottles, any other plastic is trash. The green bin is for organics; fruit and vegetable peels, seeds, and just anything that has to have something to do with fruits and vegetables. The Tetra Pak bin is for all the Tetra Paks; you need to cut it, wash it, stomp it, and then throw it in the Tetra Pak bin. Lastly, others (otros) is for regular trash that cannot be recycled like the Doritos bags, paper napkins, etc. We have put these bins all around the school. The reason we do this is so that the people who offer to take in the garbage to recycle need it to be separated for the trash not to get mixed together so that they can make new things out of the trash. Most classes also have a place to put old batteries (even though people should use rechargeable batteries) and a place to put paper that can still be used. Also for all I know, the international section does plays, games and things like that to help us remember to recycle.

The tree is made with a plastic bottle, a corn flakes box and different colored paper and some stickers to decorate it. The three wise men were done using some plastic bottles and pieces of fabriC, it was decorated with foamy pieces. We celebrated Christmas in pk3 with new

recycling ideas!

Nos basamos en la canción de la familia, la que habla de una casa feliz, un árbol, y ventanas. También el enfoque fue reconocer los miembros de la familia y que ellos viven ahí.

In my first day of school, I was happy to see my friends and meet my new teachers.

I learned cool stuff and started a fun and great school year with friends and new teachers. I

wasn’t very nervous because they were the same classmates and I knew the teachers,

except for Dani and Chandler. I know it will be a great year I am al already enjoying it very

much. My first day of school was exciting and fun, it was nice because the class was

decorated with many interesting things, that looked very nice and the teachers were also

very nice. At the end of the day I was very happy to have nice teachers and great friends.

When I went home I told my dad about school and he was very proud about my day.

The students were asked to write how their first day of school was, giving as many details and examples.

I Found a Turkey

If I ever find a turkey in my yard, I would first wash him to make sure it doesn’t have

any germs. Then, I will play with him fun and exciting games. I will give him a name it will be

Bob, that’s a cool name. I will later take Bob to a fun and long trip to Europe and in Europe I

will buy him yummy food and fresh water so he can eat and drink.

I will take the best care I can with lots of love. Then, I will also take him to see a

fantastic movie, to the beach to get some rest and so he can swim in the blue sea. Later,

after 3 years when he is old and fat, I will eat him for Thanksgiving with my family. Sorry, Bob.

In the sprit of Thanksgiving, the students had to write in their journal a short story using adjectives and

commas, about finding a turkey in their yard.
