Local Funding FormulaThe Schools Forum agreed that the principles of a new formula
should be:• Be fair• Be simple• Be transparent• Provide stability• Avoid turbulence• Use data that is accurate, available, easy to update, relevant and timely• Provide funding that follows pupil need (e.g. AEN, SEN)The intended outcome of the review was:• To ensure similar schools receive similar funding• To remove anomalies so enabling heads greater flexibility in
apportioning funding in their schools. • More predictable budget planning. • A formula understood (cause and impact)
