Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer. This means that you should use the Primary PE and Sport Premium to:

• develop or add to the PE and sport activities that your school already offers • build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years

Please visit gov.uk for the revised DfE guidance including the 5 key indicators across which schools should demonstrate an improvement. This document will help you to review your provision and to report your spend. DfE encourages schools to use this template as an effective way of meeting the reporting requirements of the Primary PE and Sport Premium.

We recommend you start by reflecting on the impact of current provision and reviewing the previous spend. Under the Ofsted Schools Inspection Framework, inspectors will assess how effectively leaders use the Primary PE and Sport Premium and measure its impact on outcomes for pupils, and how effectively governors hold them to account for this.

Schools are required to publish details of how they spend this funding as well as on the impact it has on pupils’ PE and sport participation and attainment. We recommend regularly updating the table and publishing it on your website as evidence of your ongoing review into how you are using the money to secure maximum, sustainable impact. To see an example of how to

complete the table please click HERE.

Key achievements to date: Areas for further improvement and baseline evidence of need:

- REAL PE scheme of work raising profile of PE across the school. PE coordinator has delivered three staff meetings throughout the year to whole school members of staff. Focus of these have been REAL PE, lunchtime and breaktime activities and sports days.

- Engagement of pupils in regular activity: children are offered a range of opportunities throughout the year to engage in regular physical activity, e.g. netball, multi-skills, rounders, cross-country and cricket.

- Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE: REAL PE scheme and PE coordinator has delivered staff meetings for all staff.

- PE interventions in Spring Term: Key Stage Coaching, delivered to year 3/4 children (PP and those inactive). One hour per week and one hour per week funded Gifted and Talented club for year 5/6 after-school. Further improvement: is there capacity to run this for longer next time and also show sustainability for continuing this in the future?

- Swimming provision for all children from years 2-6. They take part in 6-8 sessions at Chilton Trinity Sports Centre during the year within their year group. Each session is 30 minutes long.

- Continue to raise profile of PE across the school by implementing sports fixtures, Golden Mile scheme and interventions for LA/ PP children e.g. Motiv8 event and KS1 cricket presentations.

- Engagement of pupils in regular activity – Golden Mile scheme to be used by all – whole school focus. Opportunities for reception children, mainly to be offered during summer term. A trial is taking place in the summer term to establish if this is successful and can be run next year. Wake and shake started weekly again in summer term, run by Playground Leaders.

- Increased participation in broad range of competitive sport activities: need for more KS2 opportunities for participation in competitive sport – Silver kite mark award 2015/16 with MB PE coordinator and 2017/18 Bronze kite mark. Cross-country events regularly attended – numbers participated not as high as other schools; parents are required to transport children. Football fixtures also attended and girls football fixtures taken part in. Need for a diverse range of activities and fixtures. Young Leaders from summer term delivering a range of lunchtime activities for all children across the school.

Support for review and reflection - considering the 5 key indicators from DfE, what development needs are a priority for your setting and your students now and why? Use the space below to reflect on previous spend, identify current need and priorities for the future.

Academic Year: 2017/18 Total fund allocated: £19500 Date Updated: May 2018

Key indicator 1: The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – Chief Medical Officer guidelines recommend that primary school children undertake at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day in school

Percentage of total allocation:

%

School focus with clarity on intended impact on pupils:

Actions to achieve: Funding allocated:

Evidence and impact: Sustainability and suggested next steps:

• Tracking – Absolute Coaching (feedback and discussions with other schools who already have this in place needed before purchase). Children will be identified who are non-participators – systems in place to help with those – recommendations to parents for more physical activity, targeted interventions or encouragement to participate in clubs.

• Train teachers and office staff on how to use, log and keep a track of pupil involvement.

• End of year – produce report on amount of activity in previous two years (only bought into scheme during Spring Term) so using this year as a trial ahead of next year.

£350 Amount of physical activity for each child can be recorded, as well as ensuring registers are kept up to date for clubs and fixtures/ events. https://www.absolutecoaching.org.uk/

Keep track of children taking part -can this information help to form future focus groups and interventions?

• Participation in PE lessons and extra-curricular activities.

PE lessons are now to be taught by teaching staff using REAL PE scheme of work, where assessments form a significant part of to inform both children and current and future teachers. Clubs are run by a variety of different staff members – Autumn Term:

- Year 1-6 Gymnastics – Premier Sport (parent funded)

- Year 1-3 Multi-Sports – MB lead (no charge)

- Year 3-6 Netball – LM lead (no charge)

No cost Parent/ pupil questionnaires – data analysed on spreadsheet by MB. Registers to see amount of children involved and active – data to be analysed on absolute coaching website. Extra-curricular home learning challenges taken from REAL PE scheme, specific for each year group. To be written in home learning diary – encouragement of 30:30 (total 60 minutes activity time per child per day).

Maintain amount of extra-curricular provisions for children. Can these be shown in an increase focus of Level 2 tournaments in 2018/19? Opportunities to be given for the inactive during curriculum time e.g. Motiv8 event.

Action Plan and Budget Tracking Capture your intended annual spend against the 5 key indicators. Clarify the success criteria and evidence of impact that you intend to measure to evaluate for students today and for the future.
