Project Description
is a mobile interactive learning facility (former MITC) that
features exciting hands-on learning through fun and easy
science activities
contains laboratory facilities, audio-visual equipment,
interactive exhibits, and various learning materials that will
be helpful in facilitating learning to the students
takes to the countryside and to under-equipped schools in
the country a brand new experience in science
also a good vehicle for SEI to promote its various programs

science laboratory that would enable students to conduct
hands-on experiments and discover the wonderful world of
science
Bridge the lack of science facilities in schools in the country

Conclusions
There was an over-all satisfaction among the
participants as evidenced by an average rating of 4.8
out of 5 for Statements 1 and 2.
Although the average rating for Statement 4 is the
lowest among the 8 statements, there was a notable
increase of interest in the number of students who
wanted to take up science-related courses after Science
Explorer (73.77% increase from that of before Science
Explorer).
Other courses which saw an increase in numbers are
Physics-related courses, Life Sciences, and Computer
science.
Recommendations On the evaluation tool (questionnaire) used
Provide clearer questions that would more or less yield different
answers per question (For instance, it has been observed that the
answers to Question #s 1, 2, 4, and 8 are mostly the same, and can
be consolidated into one question only.)
Limit open-ended questions – choices can be given instead
Choices can be generalized to encompass a wider range of answers
Clarify the questions to guide the participants in answering the
questions
Instruct the participants to limit blank answers
Ask for school address instead of home address
Recommendations On the participants’ evaluation of Science Explorer
A few promotional statements can be inserted before every activity to further
increase interest in taking up science-related courses.
Focus can be made especially on the activities that garnered the most interest,
such as Robotics and Astronomy.
Listed below are the problems encountered by the participants, along with their
own recommendations:
