PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

This week we continue with our Phase 1 return of students with students attending one day per week. Please be aware that families who need to send their children to school every day may do so.

It has been great to see our students return to school and catch up with their teachers and peers. Some of the work completed at home that I have had the privilege of seeing shows that our students are continuing to engage with their learning at home and some are putting in a lot of effort to ensure that their high standard continues. I commend all our parents who are supporting their children with their learning throughout this period. We understand that it is difficult and challenging. Be assured that we appreciate all that you are doing.

We have been informed by the Department of Education that this semester’s reports can be adjusted to reflect the current remote learning situation. This will be a simplified report that will provide a summative account of student progress and achievement on the learning covered in Semester 1. We hope to share this revised format with the P&C at their next meeting.

We have heard via the media that schools will resume fulltime attendance at school as of Monday 25 May. Our staff are looking forward to everyone returning and re-establishing face to face learning for the term. We thank our parents and families for all their efforts to maintain support of remote learning throughout the pandemic.

As we will all be returning to school, we ask that students return any Learning Packs, Home readers, library books and laptops that have been at home. We will be continuing with physical distancing guidelines and as such, students will need to bring a drink bottle as our bubblers continue to be only for refilling drink
