Screen Capture and Artistic Effects

A Screen Capture is an image that catches all the information that is showing on the screen at one given time. This can simply be done by using the ‘printscreen’ key on a computer's keyboard.

Screen Captures can be used at home, at work and at school.

At home - send directions, share something in a blog or on facebook, save online receipts

At school - research, tutorials

At work - training, research

Who uses it?

We use Screen Captures because it is a quick and simple way to send information to people.

It is also a simple way to demonstrate how to do something with step by step visual instructions.

It is convenient, you can even use screen captures on your smartphone!

Why do we use Screen Captures?

To take a Screen Capture you press and hold the CTRL key then press the PRINTSCREEN key.

Once you have the image you press and hold CTRL and then press the V key.

You can also edit your screen capture to crop out unwanted information or change the shape of your image

How ?

In word you can do something called Screen Clipping. This is where you can insert a picture of part of the screen into your file. Step one: Press the insert tab

An Artistic Effect is a simple way to edit your pictures, Clip Art or Screen Captures.

You can change the brightness, the contrast, the shape, the angle as well as the color.

You can add borders, words, other images and even blending images together!

Artistic Effects can be used by anybody!

At Home- you can edit your personal pictures anyway you want.

At school- You can use them in reports to make them more interesting

Work- Multimedia designers use artists effects to sell products and make money. They are used to change eye colour, hair colour, body shape/size, facial structure, the whiteness of teeth, and many other aspects of photos.

Step One: Click on the “insert” tab.

Step Two: Click on the “picture” button.

Step Three: Once you have clicked the “picture” button, a window with photo folders should appear.

Step Five: Once the picture has been inserted, you click on the format button, once that has been done, you can then begin to add different effects to the chosen picture.
