TRANSCRIPT
We are almost through the state testing season! We had a great SBA session at the beginning of this month, and the Algebra End-of-Course (EOC) exam is on Monday, June 6th, Biology EOC is Tuesday the 7th, and Geometr y EOC is on Wednesday the 8th. Your students? Family teachers w i l l be able to tel l you which tests your students have to take, i f any.
People have asked me my opinion on state and federal testing r equir ements? and I do have opinions, not because the assessments are bad, but because so much time and energy are w rapped up in them. But the r eal ly impor tant thing is the amazing effor t and gr i t kids show in applying themselves dur ing the testing sessions. Walking into those testing rooms is a tr ue testament to the desir e kids have to meet another mi lestone on their way towards graduation. Thank you for sending them to us r eady to test, and for impar ting to them at home the impor tance of putting their best into those tests.
Your kids are r egister ing for next fal l in their S2S class on Fr iday. And, they w i l l have to be passing / on Green status to maintain their status as a ful l-time enrol led student next fal l . I f not, they w i l l need to engage in a summer program. See a l ist of summer learning oppor tuni ties at w w w.edmonds.wednet.edu/summer learning. There are many fr ee or ver y affordable options for summer programming ? even i f your student is on Green, having them engage in something dur ing the summer can give them an advantage when they come back in the fal l .
We look for ward to seeing you at our last round of SLPs on Fr iday the 27th and, as always, never hesi tate to contact us i f you have questions!
