    Recreational SCUBA Diving began between 1942- 1943, after Emile Gagnan and Captain Hacques Yves Cousteau developed the self-containedAqua-Lung and new regulator that wasautomatic.

    Cousteau took many successful, experimentaldives with his friends, wife and two sons, making
