Assemblage of the same object or two alternating or similar objects

• Create an 8” or larger sculpture (freestanding or relief) that shows the following principles of design: repetition, rhythm and movement.

• Your medium can be any object that you can gather a number of, that are basically the same shape and size. For example, plastic spoons, sugar cubes, paper clips, plastic floss picks, buttons. Glue these forms together using white glue, hot glue or household cement.

• Sketch ideas in your journal before beginning.

Found Objects Assemblage

• Create a freestanding or relief sculpture out of found objects (trash, recyclables, etc.) by transforming the objects into something completely new and different. For example, transform a hair dryer into the head of a horse. Or transform metal cans into an abstract relief sculpture about pattern and shape. Sketch ideas in your journal before beginning.
