Who We Are Sheep Dog Impact Assistance (SDIA) is a non-profit organization that serves the needs of our nation’s “Sheep Dogs” - society’s protectors, the men and women who have served or are currently serving in our nation’s military, law enforcement, fire & rescue and EMS professions. Sheep Dogs feel serving and helping others is a way of life that does not stop when a shiſt or tour of duty ends. e various programs offered by SDIA provide members with an outlet to continue serving, and for some, a renewed sense of purpose. SHEEP DOG IN NEED PROGRAMS Sometimes society’s helpers need help themselves due to an injury or medical issue, a family hardship, or other unexpected crisis. e "impact assistance" SDIA members provide Sheep Dogs in Need fosters growth and healing for all involved. SDIA provides peer group camaraderie, and offers support and mentoring to those transitioning from active duty to civilian life by those who have successfully navigated the transition. Our Sheep Dogs have made enormous sacrifices for us. ose with physi- cal and emotional wounds suffered in the line of duty oſten feel they can no longer make significant contributions to society. Helping their fellow citizens in a variety of ways facilitates healing and fosters a renewed sense of purpose. Helping is Healing. Peer Group & Mentoring/Transition Assistance Continued Service to Society DISASTER RESPONSE MISSIONS SDIA members that deploy on disaster response missions are able to use their extensive training to aid fellow citizens with immediate “impact assistance” through tree and debris removal, covering damaged roofs and windows, distribution of food and water, and other meaningful tasks. Hunting TripsA few times per year, groups are selected to participate in wild game hunts sponsored by SDIA community partners. �ese hunts give our Sheep Dogs a new focus, leading to a more positive mental state and con�dence that they can continue making a di�erence.

Other Assistance SDIA also provides material support to Sheep Dogs who need help with home repairs, yard work, food or clothing, and other assistance.

Project Giving: Thanksgiving MealsFor Sheep Dog families needing assistance, SDIA provides a complete traditional �anksgiving dinner that includes a turkey, ham, vegetables and sides - and even pie!

Christmas Outreach: Adopt a Sheep Dog Child at Christmas Our Christmastime e�orts focus on adopting the children of Sheep Dog families who are struggling. Each child in the family receives toys, clothing and other necessities they would not have otherwise received.

Outdoor AdventuresObstacle Races, Skydiving, Canoeing, Rucks, etc. �roughout the year, physically challenging events are selected for SDIA members to partici-pate in. �ese events reengage and instill con�dence in those with inju-ries, reminding them that there is still much they can accomplish, and that life is worth living.
