Role StatementThis position is responsible for financial, facility and office management functions and the administrative/logistic support for the Learning and Development directorate. The role consults, advises and supports the Director and Management team on all business matters to ensure the directorate’s activities achieve organisational objectives. The Coordinator Training Services provides a high quality service and advice that is proactive, solutions focused, customer focused and timely; supervising and prioritising work for the Training Services team.

Duties and Responsibilities1. Business Management, Support and Leadership

1.1 Provides advice across the directorate regarding the administration of business operations, business planning, budgeting and human and physical resource management.

1.2 Coordinates the Training Services team, ensuring activities are completed in a timely manner, with business improvement and the development of learning opportunities for staff invited and supported.

1.3 Ensures the provision of a quality customer service that is proactive and forward thinking.

2. Resource Management

2.1 Provides financial advice that supports the development of the directorate’s business plan.

2.2 Manages the preparation of financial and budgeting reports for the Director in consultation with the Coordinator Business Support and Coordination.

2.3 Complies with Treasurer’s Instructions, the Financial Management Act 2006 and other legislative requirements, policies and procedures.

2.4 Ensures that audit and treasury queries in relation to the directorate’s financial management are responded to in a timely manner.

2.5 Coordinates human resources and associated administration in consultation with the Director.

2.6 Partners with human resource consultants to provide accurate and timely advice on salaries, interpretation of awards and other HR policies and processes.

2.7 Coordinates staff training, induction and other support programs.

2.8 Monitors the directorate’s compliance with Occupational Health and Safety workplace inspection requirements.

2.9 Ensures effective asset management and maintenance strategies for the directorate’s facilities, assets and buildings are implemented and monitored.

3. Reporting and Advice

3.1 Ensures reports and advice regarding accounting standards is timely, accurate, identifies opportunities and risks, and proposes suitable options for improvement or compliance.

4. Demonstrated financial management skills, including budget preparation and the ability to interpret and apply financial and accounting practices and procedures.

5. Demonstrated human resource management skills, including the ability to apply human resource management practices and processes.

6. High level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
