Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra
29th Season
Season Concerts, Special Events & Guest Artist RecitalsBeatles music and a night of Mardi Gras jazz both benefit the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra as two national Special Events appear with the NFSO in its 29th year as the region’s premier professional orchestra! During the stellar 2015-2016 season, the orchestra also presents five regular Season Concerts featuring Guest Artists from across the globe, as well as three Guest Artist Recitals featuring internationally renowned pianists in solo performance.
All Special Events and Season Concerts appear in the magnificent 1,650 seat Mainstage Theater of the Mattie Kelly Fine & Performing Arts Center in Niceville, where a custom
orchestra shell provides the very best in acoustics for concert patrons. Recitals appear in the center’s Tyler Recital Hall. There’s simply nothing like our state-of-the art concert and recital halls to experience the marvelous music of the NFSO and our slate of outstanding Guest Artists! All concerts and recitals begin at 7:30 p.m. (CT).
The NFSO is a fully professional orchestra that is operated by Northwest Florida State College as a non-profit organization. The NFSO relies on tax deductible gifts, corporate underwriting, and grants to support the orchestra and its longstanding music education outreach programs for youth.

2015-2016 NFSO Season
Since 1987
The 2015-16 season offers two separate national touring Special Event concerts to benefit the NFSO! Tickets to both Special Events are included in the NFSO Gold Plus & Gold Season Packages or may be purchased individually.
Relive the magic of John, Paul, George and Ringo, backed by the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra in a Special Event of the nationally touring CLASSICAL MYSTERY TOUR: A TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES. Critics across the nation have raved about the unique concert experience of prestigious orchestras paired with the Classical Mystery Tour performers in the event which features more than 30 Beatles tunes all sung, played, and performed exactly as they were written!
Hear “Penny Lane” with a live trumpet section; experience the beauty of “Yesterday” with an acoustic guitar and string quartet – from early Beatles music on through the solo years, the Classical Mystery Tour promises to be the best of The Beatles like you’ve never heard them!
The world-famous DUKES OF DIXIELAND from New Orleans present a Mardi Gras extravaganza of jazz and brass! The DUKES only accept about 30 dates a year to appear at much sought-after concerts in the USA and overseas, never straying long from their home base in New Orleans on the Steamboat Natchez, so don’t miss this wildly popular group for a jammin’ good time to benefit the NFSO!
The DUKES play a range of New Orleans music, from Dr. John and Fats Domino, to Huey Smith and Louis Prima, not to mention many of their own original tunes. With a repertoire of roughly 400 tunes, the DUKES are the pre-eminent New Orleans band as well as official New Orleans Ambassadors and have recorded 26 albums as well as produced 3 PBS television shows!
