1. Facts & Figures
The commune of Nendaz is composed of 17 villages. It extends from the
plain at Aproz, 460 meters, to its highest point, the Rosablanche at 3,336
metres.
Nendaz has about 6,100 year-round residents. Nendaz station lists more
than 22’000 beds in chalets and apartments and 400 hotel beds and inns .
The resort offers many possibilities to its guests during the winter. There
are more than 412 km of ski slopes, 100 km of winter walks, 6 snowshoe
tracks and 9 km of cross-country skiing.
Nendaz is part of the 4 Valleys ski area which also includes the resorts of
Veysonnaz, Thyon and Verbier.
In summer, Nendaz offers a network of 8 bisses (ancient irrigation chan-
nels) and a wide variety of routes for hiking and mountain biking.

3. Arrival in Nendaz
By car
Nendaz is situated 15 km from a highway exit, around 20 minutes by
car. Take the highway A9 until the exit Sion-Ouest/Nendaz.
The direction « Nendaz » is then indicated on the road signs.
By public transport
The closest train station is Sion. You then take the postal bus to Haute-
Nendaz station. Around 20 departures per day are proposed.

5. Registration at the commune of Nendaz
When you arrive in Nendaz, you have 14 days in
which to announce your arrival with all the
requested documents.
A) For Swiss people
Swiss people should go to the population control in Basse-Nendaz with
the following documents (document registration - secondary residence) :
Arrival declaration, downloadable on www.nendaz.org/commune/arrivee-citoyens-suisses.html
Original declaration of the town of main residence
AVS card
Identity card or valid passport
Certificate of health insurance for the current year
Family booklet : for married couples, widowed, separated or divorced
Separation contract or divorce judgement indicating to whom the right of custody is attributed for families with financially dependent children
Lease or certificate of landlord
Copy of signed employment contract.

B) For non-Swiss people
To obtain a L-permit, you have to go to the non-Swiss population con-
trol office in Haute-Nendaz with the following documents:
Lease or certificate of landlord
Signed and completed CE/AELE (EC/EFTA) request (provided by your employer)
Copy of signed employment contract
Identity card or valid passport
L-questionnaire (provided by your employer or to be completed on site)
Last residence permit (if you have already worked in Switzerland)

6. Holiday taxes
All non-resident guests who stay overnight stay in Nendaz pay the holiday
tax, as stated in the tourism law.
All Swiss seasonal workers, accommodated in Nendaz, whose papers are
not deposited with the local authorities of the district of Nendaz, have to pay
the holiday tax.
There are two special scenarios :
1) Non-Swiss, accommodated in Nendaz, in possession of a residence per-mit and who are subject to revenue taxes,
2) Swiss citizens, accommodated in Nendaz, whose papers are deposited with the local authorities of the district of Nendaz.
How to pay your holiday tax ?
If you have not paid the holiday tax via your rental agency or landlord, you
can fill in the seasonal fee request form in Nendaz Tourisme.
The annual fee is based on 40 overnight stays and is personal: it is not
possible to pay one annual fee for several different people.

5 free shuttle buses run during the winter season (3 in the resort, 1
for Pracondu and the skibus for Siviez)
