• PL 84-99 Emergency Flood Protection Act of1965, as amended, authorizes response before, duringand after a disaster.

• PL 93-288, as amended, the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act provides that the Corps and other federal agencies may be tasked by FEMA to provide disaster response, recovery and mitigation assistance to state and local governments.

• AR 500-60 gives Corps commanders the authority to provide resources if other authorities don’t apply.
