Blueberry Pie Blended CoffeeYou might be surprised, but the blueberries go very well with the
dark, intense flavor of the level 5 coffee. My concoction is the perfect
afternoon treat.
Ingredients1 C Seattle’s Best Coffee Level 5, cold brewed and divided.1/4 C blueberry syrup1 C milk1-2 Tbsp evaporated milk, to the sweetness you prefer1 tsp cinnamon1/4 C frozen blueberries, save a few for garnish1 T crushed pie crustWhipped cream for topping
Fill an ice cube tray with cold brewed coffee. Let this freeze for a few
hours or overnight. You will only need half the tray, but save the rest
for more coffee drinks later on.
When ready to make your drink add all the ingredients, except for a
few blueberries, pie crust and whipped cream, to a blender. Pulse
till frothy. Pour into glasses and garnish with whipped cream and top
with pie crust crumbs and blueberries.

Coffee JellyThis recipe is adapted from The Food Librarian.
Ingredients 4 C strong brewed coffee, divided 6 packs of unflavored gelatin, divided 1 C of cold water, divided 2 Tsp of sugar (or to taste) 1/2 can of sweetened condensed milk (or to taste)
Grab two large bowls and pour 1/2 cup of water each. Sprinkle three
packets of unflavored gelatin into each bowl, over the water. Use this
amount of gelatin for finger-jello consistency. Use less for softer jelly. Let
sit for a few minutes. Pour 2 cups of hot coffee into each bowl. Stir to
dissolve the gelatin.
In one bowl, add 1/2 cup of sugar, and in the other bowl, add 1/2 can
of sweetened condensed milk. Stir to dissolve the sugar, and to mix the
sweetened condensed milk.
Pour the two mixtures into two glass baking dishes (smaller for thicker
jelly). Chill to set in the refrigerator.
Remove from the refrigerator and cut into desired size of pieces. Serve
with flavored milk or coffee. If serving with a hot beverage, place jelly over
whipped cream so the jelly doesn’t melt.

Peppermint Vanilla mocha Blended iced CoffeeIngredients
1 C of Seattle’s Best coffee 1.5 – 2 C of ice 1/2 C of skim milk 1 tsp of Vanilla 2 T of chocolate syrup dash of cinnamon Whipped cream to top it off!
Combine all ingredients in the blender and enjoy! One of the best
parts of this recipe is that you can use coffee brewed from earlier
that you didn’t use. It’s a great way to make sure you enjoy every
last drop of coffee from your pot.

homemade maple iced CoffeeA cold brew is quick and easy, and it is what makes this recipe so good.
Think about it, why would you take coffee, make it hot, then make it
cold? Doesn’t that sound wrong? It takes 5 extra minutes. Try it.
Ingredients
1/4 bag Seattle’s Best coffee (medium light & lively)Half & HalfMaple SyrupOptional: Whipped Cream
Put coffee into pitcher, add water, and put it in your fridge. Leave it
alone (to brew). You could wait overnight like me, or eight hours if
you’re impatient. Put some leftover coffee into an ice cube tray and
freeze.
Put your coffee cubes in a cup. Pour coffee into the cup (if you like it
black, stop now).
Pour in some maple syrup. Make sure it is REAL maple syrup! Avoid the
kind that contains “high fructose corn syrup” because it probably does
not contain any maple syrup, just maple flavoring. If given a choice
between Grade A & B, pick B, as it is less refined and processed.

molten hazelnut Affogato Using Seattle’s Best CoffeeAffogato means “to drown” in Italian. Traditionally a scoop of ice cream or
gelato drowned in coffee.
Ingredients2 T Seattle’s Best coffee (preferably a dark roast)Bar of Dark Chocolate4 oz. of chopped of chocolateVanilla bean ice creamNutella melted
Place chopped of chocolate in the bottom of a thick walled cup that can
handled heat. Triple up your coffee filters and bend them over the edge
while pushing down the bottom into the cup. Add 2 T of coffee on the
top of the filters. Slowly pour boiling water over coffee grounds. Don’t
worry that the coffee fliters won’t fall in. Once filled, stir chocolate into
the coffee. Set aside.
Add 5 scoops of vanilla bean ice cream to bowl. Pour melted Nutella
over the ice cream. Add molten coffee. Sprinkle the chocolate curls
over the ice cream. Add the chocolate covered espresso beans. Add
two straws and voila...Molten Hazelnut Affogato to enjoy with your
lovee.

Coffee mocha Shake goodnessIngredients
Seattle’s Best Coffee (preferably Level 5)Vanilla Ice CreamDaVinci Chocolate SyrupHershey’s Cocoa
First you’ll want to make your iced coffee. For this drink, you’ll want
to be sure that your coffee is chilled, so make it in advance and let it
chill in the refrigerator for a few hours. Once you have your iced coffee
ready to go, you’re going to place 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream, 4-5 oz.
of iced coffee and 1/2 oz. of the chocolate syrup into your blender and
blend. Please note this chocolate syrup is a syrup intended for coffee
drinks, milk shakes, smoothies, etc. It’s not hershey’s chocolate syrup.
Once you have your shake consistency, pour into the glass, add cool
whip and a sprinkle or two of cocoa.

Seattle’s Best iced mochaWhen making iced coffee at home, I like to make a mocha sugar rim for
the glasses. It’s very simple to do, with only 3 ingredients, and really adds
a lot to the drink. To make the mocha sugar you’ll need to combine 2
tablespoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon instant coffee powder and 2 teaspoons
cocoa powder. Simply dip the rim of the glass into water and then into the
mocha sugar.Ingredients
10 oz brewed coffee, cold1 C milk2 T heavy cream2 tsp vanilla extract2 tsp sugar2-3 T chocolate syrup
Brew coffee and let cool or use leftover morning coffee. Put coffee in the
fridge until it is nice and cold. Combine first 5 ingredients, mixing well. Set
aside.
Mocha Sugar Rim – On a shallow plate, combine 2 tablespoons sugar, 1
teaspoon instant coffee powder, and 2 teaspoons cocoa powder. Rim the
edge of your glass with water then dip into the mocha sugar mix to coat.
Fill the bottom of your glass with 1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup, give or
take. If desired, add ice cubes. Pour in the coffee you just made and top with
a dollop or two of homemade whipped cream.

meeting Jeff mauro at the California State fair I had the extraordinary privilege of meeting Jeff Mauro at the Seattle’s
Best Red Cup Showdown at the California State Fair. The competition
was incredibly exciting and I was even able to take Reece along
for the adventure! This was my first food competition and it was so
much fun to watch the particpants prepare their recipe for the judges.
Of course, having Jeff Mauro hosting made this competition even
more entertaining. He was just as I would have expected - funny,
charming, and just delightful to watch.
Reece spotted Jeff immediately after we arrived. He said, “Mommy,
there’s the Sandwich King!” Jeff had been told that Reece was a big
fan so he came over and chatted with Reece and I for a few minutes
before the competition. He was super friendly and talked about his
son Lorenzo. Reece was so cute and I just kept thinking “why do I
not have my zoom lens on right now????” Thankfully a fellow blogger
was sitting behind us and managed to get in a shot and we got to
take even more pictures with Jeff later.

CA State fair red Cup Showdown Competition Over the weekend I had the most awesome fair experience ever!
I had the chance to attend the Seattle’s Best Red Cup Showdown
Competition. My husband and I go every year to the CA State Fair
to celebrate the anniversary of our first date. This year was 14 years
since then. It was a wonderful and memorable way to celebrate. Our
son is only 2-1/2, so my husband and son arrived at the end of the
competition, just in time to hear the winners announced. I was there
from the beginning. I even had a chance to chat with the adorable
Jeff Mauro, (the Sandwich King) before the event started. He is so
personable and funny. A perfect host for a fun competition like the
Red Cup Showdown.
After the competition my husband, son and I all headed to the
Seattle’s Best Coffee booth on the fairgrounds. We had the chance
to get our picture taken in the Red Cup, spin the Seattle’s Best wheel
for prizes, and taste a few of the Seattle’s Best Coffee fair drinks. We
also were given samples of the coffee to brew at home.

Seattle’s Best red Cup Showdown at CA State fairFrom the moment we entered the gates, Eli was in AWE! The day
started off in the low 70s, the crowds weren’t out yet, and we were on an
adventure! There were just SO many smells to take in, games to look at,
and food to drool over!
Onto the competition! I’m not sure what I expected when I got here.
Maybe a boring competition, coffee just add milk? This was the MOST fun
that I’ve had in a LONG time!
What a great event! Jeff Mauro was a great host. The Seattle’s Best team
was awesome and kept things moving along. And the crowd was full of
supporters for the participants. After I was able to get pictures of all the
winners, I was able to sneak in a picture with Jeff.
After my giddy picture, I skipped out of the grandstand arena to find my
hubby and boys. They had ridden rides and rides…and we walked around
and came upon the Seattle’s Best booth.
There were FREE samples, games on the spinning wheel with prizes, and
a big ole coffee cup you could have your picture taken in. But…my sweet
Eli…wanted a picture with one of the Seattle’s Best girls.
What a fun filled day!

i met Chef Jeff mauro at the ohio State fairI had the pleasure of attending the LIVE Seattle’s Best Red Cup
Showdown at The Ohio State Fair with celebrity host Chef Jeff Mauro. This
was my first time attending a judging of any fair events besides judging the
animals and I was excited to watch the contestants create coffee drinks
LIVE! Once I found the event it was pure entertainment. Chef Jeff Mauro
did a great job hosting the event and I really enjoyed his commentary as
the drinks were created.
The event had three rounds that went fairly quickly and each contestant
had impressive drink recipes! I enjoyed hearing the stories behind the
creations and seeing all the creative things people added to coffee. One
lady had mini waffles and bacon bits, another had homemade whip cream
(yes she did win) and one lone man entered. He added peanut butter and
got third place!
After the showdown I headed outside with my two fellow bloggers to check
out the Seattle’s Best red truck. They had delicious iced coffee drinks for
everyone at the fair to enjoy. They also had a really fun photo opportunity
where you stand in a red mug. They take your photo and email it to you
with the caption “I was mugged!” So cute. Of course they were giving out
free Seattle’s Best coffee samples and they even had a prize wheel.

ohio State fair red Cup Showdown With Jeff mauroIf you missed my first post, the Red Cup Showdown is a competition
where contestants compete making yummy creative coffee recipes.
It was hosted by the hilarious Jeff Mauro from the Food Network.
{He’s even funnier in person.} He did a great job making the
contestants feel comfortable and keeping the audience entertained
and laughing. There were eight contestants who made everything
from a peanut butter java to caramel corn latte. One woman even
had waffles and bacon in her coffee drink {my kind of coffee!}. The
whole process took about an hour and half then the judges {Jeff
Mauro, Kyle Kent, and Michelle Van Harmelen} deliberated on who
had the winning drink. This part took sometime but the winner was…
Karen Halderman with the Orange Blossom Morning! Her inspiration
was from breakfast, most people are already mixing the flavors of
orange juice and coffee so why not combine them. Which is great
logic and really makes sense. So why not have a Orange Blossom
Morning coffee drink on every Seattle’s Best menu? Well, Karen
will be off to NYC to complete with the other Red Cup Showdown
finalists to do just that. Compete to win a spot for her drink on the
Seattle’s Best menu in all US locations.

lots of laughs with Jeff mauro at the Wisconsin State fair There were a lot of fun things going on at the Seattle’s Best Coffee
booth, including a prize wheel. We didn’t want to be late for the Red Cup
Showdown though, so we headed back to the Horticulture Craft and
Culinary Pavilion to see Jeff Mauro in action!
TV Chef Jeff Mauro was one of the judges and that boy sure held the
show! He had Maureen and I laughing through the entire two hour show!
And yes, we did get to meet him.
Jeff, sly little comedian that he is, kept teasing one of the contestants
about wearing her sunglasses indoors. She was a trooper though and
just laughed right along with him.. and everyone else! Now that’s the
kind of personality I like!
It was too bad they didn’t hand samples of the contestants’ recipes to the
crowd. However, they were passing out samples throughout the show
and we got to try the Minty Mocha, which was pretty darn delicious!

Seattle’s Best red Cup Showdown at the Wisconsin State fair This past weekend, my family headed out to the Wisconsin State Fair.
Jay and LJ were excited about the food on a stick, the animals, and the
rides. I (along with a bunch of other Wisconsin ladies) was all excited
about the Seattle’s Best Red Cup Showdown!
The other ladies were all excited because they were actually entering this
coffee drink making competition. I was so excited to meet Jeff Mauro!
And when I heard that there would be a Seattle’s Best Booth where they
would be handing out special fair-inspired drinks, I almost outran the
Freeway Flyer!
I left Jay and LJ to scare themselves silly on the rides and headed off to
the Horticultural Craft and Culinary Building to meet the Seattle’s Best
folks. Luckily, I also got to meet up with fellow Wisconsin Mom Squad
member, Melissa from Outnumbered 3 to 1!
Since they weren’t quite ready yet, they directed us over to the Seattle’s
Best booth where we got to have our picture taken in a giant red cup as
well as sample lots of Seattle’s Best coffee drinks.

our trip to the State fairOn behalf of Seattle’s Best, I got to visit the Wisconsin State Fair
and check out the Red Cup Showdown by Seattle’s Best. Basically, it
was like watching the Food Network, live. Contestants had 5 minutes
to create their drink. Judges tried it out and in the end a winner was
chosen. I was really impressed with how creative people can be.
During the competition I was able to snap some photos of the drinks. I
always love a pretty presentation. The whole shebang is being hosted
by Jeff Mauro, host of the Food Network show Sandwich King.
We enjoyed the show and then headed out to enjoy the fair, which of
course included stopping by Seattle’s Best booth. We tried yummy
samples of iced coffee (check out all the creative flavors) and enjoyed a
photo op in the big red mug.

illinois State fair red Cup Showdown I can’t believe we made it to Seattle’s Best Red Cup Showdown! It was
a BLAST! The 13 contestants threw a lot at host Food Network’s Jeff
Mauro...and he handled it like a pro. Don’t ask me to explain this picture,
because I can’t. (Like you’ve never seen a leprechaun making yummy
coffee drinks?)
Luckily, for those of us who drove down EARLY in the morning, the good
folks from Seattle’s Best had yummy mini treats for us.
It was really fun seeing what kind of coffee drinks the contestants came
up with. People were really clever...adding everything from peaches, to
zucchini, to lots...and lots of chocolate. (Ain’t nothing wrong with that!)
It didn’t take long for judges Jeff Mauro, Nancy Sweet of the Illinois State
Fair, and Sam Asay from Seattle’s Best Coffee to declare Anthony Karas
the winner with his Café Mocha en Fuego submission. Now he will be off
to the main competition in NY to go up against other state fair winners for
a chance to win $10,000! Good luck Anthony...GO ILLINOIS!

family fun at the iowa State fairAs you know we are OFFICIALLY Iowans! (Is that how you say it?) And
when I heard the Iowa State Fair was coming this week I just couldn’t
pass up the opportunity to attend! I was also looking forward to checking
out Seattle’s Best Red Cup Showdown with Food Network celebrity Jeff
Mauro (host of Sandwich King).
At the Seattle’s Best booth there was a LOT going on! They even had fun
carnival props to use for a photo opp! PLUS they emailed me the photo in
a “I Got Mugged at the Iowa State Fair” in a virtual frame!
From where we entered the Iowa State Fair I was easily able to spot the
Seattle’s Best bus from across the fairgrounds so we decided to stop there
first before the kids went on all of the rides!
Everyone at the Seattle’s Best bus was SUPER friendly! Maybe it was
all that delicious coffee that was being passed around? They had several
different flavors, including state fair inspired flavors like Elephant Ear latte
(my fav) and Cotton Candy Mocha. Look how INCREDIBLY tasty their
drinks looked – PLUS they were FREE!
And if handing out FREE coffee wasn’t enough there was another super
friendly person handing out FREE bags of coffee to take home! They had
this bus VERY well planned out!

iowa State fair red Cup ShowdownMy husband and I loaded up our van with our four children, our
niece, and our babysitter, and headed to the Iowa State Fair for
Seattle’s Best Red Cup Showdown with Jeff Mauro, the Sandwich
King.
The first thing we did when we got to the fair was hit the Seattle’s
Best Booth for some free coffee! The Seattle’s Best Booth had coffee
samples from the other State Fair winners, a prize wheel, and a fun
picture opportunity!
We all had fun trying their coffee samples. Don’t tell anyone, but I let
my kids try it too. Hehe.
My son spun the prize wheel and won the grand prize – a $5 giftcard
to his choice of sandwich restaurant.
